Q) Tells us a little bit about yourself in general
A) I'm 5'2", a sophomore in college and I want to be on the Today Show.
Q) How old were you when you started gymnastics? where? Coaches?
A) 7 yrs. at the Davis YMCA and my coach was Gregg Cox.
Q) When did you determine that you were talented enough to compete nationally/internationally?
A) I never really determined that I was good enough. It just sort of happened. I had been trying for years to make nationals and then one year I did.
Q) Do you have a favorite gymnast? Who? What is it about that gymnast that you like in particular?
A) No
Q) What is your favorite apparatus? Why?
A) Floor because it is the one event that you can really show your own personality.
Q) What was your best competition performance?
A) Bama vs. Georgia at Georgia
Q) Favorite competition location?
A) Coleman Coliseum
Q) Interesting travel experiences through gymnastics competitions?
A) One year I got stuck in Ohio in a snow storm and we had to sit in the car for an hour. The only way to keep warm was to scream. So we sat in the car and screamed our lungs out until we could move.
Q) Tell us about your collegiate recruiting experience. Who recruited you, how many visits did you take and at what point did you decide to attend the University of Alabama?
A) I was recruited by Utah, Florida, LSU and UMass. I only took 3 visits. Alabama was my first recruiting trip and I knew I loved everything about it.
Q) What skills are you currently practicing and do you expect to contribute on each apparatus this season?
A) Right now I'm focusing on getting my skills back from last year. We have such a great team this year that if I have the opportunity to contribute on any of the events it would be great.
Q) What are your academic and athletic goals for the upcoming season?
A) My academic goals and athletic goals have always been the same. To give my best effort to everything that I do. As long as I say that I tried my best I'm happy with the end results.
Q) Do have a best and worst experience involving gymnastics?
A) I think my best experience was the first time that I competed here. I was in awe of the fans and the support we received from the community. It was also great to see our team come together.
My worst experience was probably tearing my ACL. I think that speaks for itself. |
