Q) How did you spend your summer vacation?
A) "I went to summer school for the first half of the summer here in Tuscaloosa. The second half I spent visiting relatives and being at home with my family. We went on a vacation to Florida and had a great time. Practice was somewhat limited because I was trying to get a stress fracture healed (in my leg)."

Q) Now that fall practice has begun, what new skills are you working on?
A) "I am working on a new tumbling pass on floor. The middle pass is a 2 ½ twist punch front. On beam I have added a new part to my mount."

Q) What one thing about you will surprise the Tide fans during the upcoming competition year?
A) "I grew out my bangs (well, actually still in the process)."

Q) Describe some of your team mates and how you think they will contribute to the 2000 team.
A) "Everyone is doing great. We are a really close team and each person will contribute in many different places (whether on the floor or cheering or leading)."

Q) Who do you think will wow the fans? Who do you think is the "sleeper" on this team?
A) "I think our freshmen will be fun to watch and our sophomores have added so much since last year. Everyone will be great to watch."

Q) In your opinion, what will it take for this team to win the national championship?
A) "Teamwork, lots of hard work mixed with fun and few injuries."

Q) Who are the leaders on this team?
A) "Many of us are leading in different ways this year. Katie (Hornecker) and Dara (Stewart) cheer a lot and lead cheering in the gym. Others lead in work ethic, others lead in the classroom. We all do (lead) in our own way. Our seniors are great!"

Q) In your opinion, which apparatus will have the great number of Tide gymnasts competing for a spot in the line up?
A) "Beam and bars."

Q) What is your favorite aspect about college gymnastics?
A) "The friendships I have created here."

Q) What is your opinion of the possibility of the SEC Championship being held at a neutral site, instead of being held on a rotational basis at each campus?
A) "I think the SEC championship meet is awesome because of the teams and overall talent in the SEC. It will be great no matter the site."

Q) How is your overall health? Did your have any surgery/rehab during the off season?
A) "I had a stress fracture in my lower leg at the end of the season last year. It is doing better but still bothers me at times."

Q) If you had to come up with a theme for this year's team, what would it be?
A) "All for one and one for all!" Roll Tide!
