Cassie Martin: 24 Videos

2008_04_12: NCAA Regionals:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.500:

Encounters trouble on her final elements moving into the dismount and ends up having to take an extra half turn swing back down, breaking her form in the process before having to kip back up. She finishes with a solid toe on 1/2 tuck (out) dismount.

2008_03_21: Auburn:
bars: Cassie Martin: (Exhibition: 9.700):

Completes her exhibition bars routine without trouble this week though she did improvise near the end with an extra giant 1/2 turn to set up for the Comaneci dismount.

2008_03_14: Penn State:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.200:

Hits everything well until the end for the toe on toe off dismount - feet just shoot past the high bar during the toe-on element and she has to jump off - finishes with a toe off 1/2 twist - nails the landing.

2008_03_09: UCLA:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.075:

Has a great routine going until the end during her front giant to prepare for the Comaneci - has to get back on and then dismounts with a step on the landing.  Head games continue to get the better of this so talented junior.

2008_03_07: Stanford:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.675:

Shows beautiful form throughout her bars routine, toe on toe off to Tkatchev to pak salto combination looked solid - the Comaneci dismount was solid, one foot check on landing. Judges may have taken off maximum for slower rotation and the weaker dismount value.

2008_02_29: Florida:
bars: Cassie Martin: (Exhibition: 9.775):

Received a 9.775 for her exhibition routine on bars, taking one slight step back on the landing of her Comaneci, this week completed in tandem with the front giant 1/2 turn to toe-on to 1/2 dismount.  Completed a smooth toe-on to Tkatchev to pak Salto combination.

2008_02_22: LSU:
beam: Cassie Martin: (Exhibition: 8.850):

Did not catch the score but two falls occurred that would have put the final tally below a 9.00 - first one occurred on the side aerial and the second one on the front aerial later in the routine.  Flight series of bhs to layout step-out, running side straddle leap looked good - also completed the switch leap to straddle jump with very nice amplitude and form.

2008_02_22: LSU:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.750:

Solid routine but rotation could have been faster to maximize her score - no problems with the toe on to Tkatchev to pak Salto and she nailed the Comaneci dismount but needed to do it immediately out of the final giant 1/2 turn to obtain her combination bonus.  Great to see her back out there on this event.

2008_01_18: Auburn:
bars: Cassie Martin: (Exhibition: 9.700):

Toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to Pak Salto combo, full turn to double tuck dismount.

2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.875:

Beautiful routine from start to finish (toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to Pak Salto), highlighted by a graceful double tuck (both revolutions above the high bar) to a stuck landing.  This was the meet's winning routine on bars in our humble opinion.

2007_03_31: SEC Championships:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.850:

A perfect routine to us - toe on toe off to Tkatchev to Pak Salto; hit her handstands and stuck the double tuck dismount.  Judges want more difficulty on this final element as well?

2007_03_16: Auburn:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.850:

Hit all of her elements, including handstands on top of the bar, the toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to Pak salto and stuck the double tuck dismount chest high but deduction probably came due to her not garnering enough distance from the bar on her landing.

2007_03_09: UCLA:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.825:

Small step to check the landing of the double tuck dismount (judges were rewarding stuck landings on this night) but the rest of this routine was terrific (toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto series especially).

2007_03_02: LSU:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.825:

One step on the landing of the double tuck dismount was the only deduction we saw. Handstands looked solid, toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto series was terrific.  Judges seemed to place extra emphasis on the landings this week.

2007_02_23: North Carolina:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.900:

Super toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto series; great stretch, toe-point, and rhythm throughout, stuck the double tuck dismount as well.

2007_02_16: Arkansas:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.825:

Another great routine except for the one step forward on the double tuck dismount.  Toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto looked terrific.

2007_02_10: Georgia:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.850:

Very nice form throughout the toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto series and the double tuck dismount had one step on the landing.

2007_02_02: Kentucky:
floor: Cassie Martin: (Exhibition: 9.575):

Opened with a 2 1/2 twist, lunged forward a little on the landing but stood it up; followed with a double twist, nice form and height; finished with a front layout to front layout to front full twist, final element was jammed a bit on landing and off to the right but well in bounds.  Start value was not up to a 10 with the second and third passes.  No obvious problems noted with the leaps (cat leap double, switch leap to switch leap full turn combination) or dance/interpretation.  Maybe the judges don't like Esteban's version of  The Godfather?

2007_02_02: Kentucky:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.800:

Nice handstands, starting with a kip to HS on the high bar mount, 1/2 turn giant to another 1/2 turn to Tkatchev to pak Salto; finished with a giant 1/2 to front giant straddle uprise to another 1/2  turn to immediate double tuck, one step on the landing.  Left out the toe-on toe-off this week, which usually occurs at the beginning of her routine.

2007_01_26: Auburn:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.925:

Cassie nailed the toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto combination but changed the routine a bit near the end, nevertheless hitting her pirouettes and handstands beautifully enroute to a stuck double tuck dismount.  Beautiful form and toe-point throughout.

2007_01_19: Florida:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.825:

Super toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto; full turn to double tuck dismount, one step

2007_01_12: Oklahoma:
bars: Cassie Martin: 8.850:

Sophomore Cassie Martin, a mainstay in the Tide's bars line-up last year, was called upon in this opening meet to go up first. She had two major problems in her routine, starting with the very difficult opening sequence of toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto (bailed on the third element first time and had to kip back with an extra swing to obtain enough power to swing through it, costing her a major deduction). After transitioning to the low bar and completing a few other elements, it looked like Cassie was going to finish strong but during her giant straddle uprise to handstand on the high bar, which comes near the end of her routine, she again lost momentum and ended up having to jump off. She finished with a giant to double tuck dismount, one hop on the landing for a final score of 8.850.

2006_03_17: Auburn:
beam: Cassie Martin: (Exhibition):

Cassie Martin (Exh) -- New opening leap of a switch side straddle jump; front aerial; she fell on the flight series again but hit the switch leap to double stag jump. Did not catch score

2006_03_17: Auburn:
bars: Cassie Martin: 9.750:

Cassie Martin -- Hit all of her elements, double tuck was high, both rotations above the high bar, small step on the dismount. 9.750
