Nails the opening vault Y 1/1 for the Gym TIde. Patterson and Raschilla slam her with the high fives (one judge scored it a 9.90).

beam: Casey Overton: 9.850:

Completes the flight series, leap series, without a glitch; full turn to sheep jump and she nails the landing of the bhs to full twist dismount.

2008_03_29: SEC Championships:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.750:

Went for the stick and landed the Yurchenko 1/1 well but chest down a bit and she waved her arms a little also to hold the landing.

2008_03_29: SEC Championships:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.900:

Effortless from start to finish - front aerial, switch leap to two straddle jumps, bhs to layout step-out, full turn, sheep jump, side straddle leap, bhs to full twist dismount, stuck the landing.  Excellent form throughout and the flow from element to element really sets this routine apart.

2008_03_29: SEC Championships:
bars: Casey Overton: 9.800:

Good focus on hitting the handstands but pirouetting needs to be smoother and faster so the routine really flows from beginning to end.  Nice Tkatchev, better form this week on the Pak Salto transition move to the low bar and a very nice dismount of the double tuck out of a full turn.

2008_03_21: Auburn:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.875:

Front aerial - nice - switch leap to two straddles - bhs to layout stepout - full turn - sheep jump - running side straddle jump - very nice - bhs to gainer full twist - nails the landing for the second week in a row!

2008_03_21: Auburn:
bars: Casey Overton: 9.825:

Her first competitive routine on bars for the Tide - looks like she's been there all year.   Full turn to Tkatchev to pak Salto to stuck double tuck out of a full turn.  Great effort.

2008_03_21: Auburn:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.825:

Yurchenko 1/1 - Excellent amplitude and position in the air, well-centered landing, good control with landing.

2008_03_14: Penn State:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.875:

Front aerial - very nice - switch leap to straddle jump - bhs to layout step-out - terrific - full turn to sheep jump - running switch side leap, dance elements - bhs to gainer full twist - stick! Awesome start from the sophomore - she makes it look so easy.

2008_03_14: Penn State:
bars: Casey Overton: (Exhibition: 9.750):

Full turn to Tkatchev to immediate Pak Salto and a full turn to double tuck dismount, one step on the landing. Score: 9.750 - deductions occurred on the transition Pak (flexed feet, limited amplitude).

2008_03_14: Penn State:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.800:

Opens for the Gymtide with a strong Yurchenko 1/1 - well-centered vault, small scoot back on landing.

2008_03_09: UCLA:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.900:

Y 1/1 - excellent power, push off the table, good amplitude - almost stuck it too.

2008_03_09: UCLA:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.875:

Front aerial - nice - switch leap to straddle jump - bhs to layout stepout - nice - full turn - sheep jump - switch side straddle jump - nice - bhs to full twist - sticks the landing!

2008_03_07: Stanford:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.850:

Nice flight series, leap series, sheep jump, side straddle jump and nails the landing of the bhs to gainer full twist!

2008_03_07: Stanford:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.825:

She throws a Y 1/1 - great vault - slight shuffle back on the landing only - we are up here in the rafters and cannot tell much about amplitude but twisting looked good.

2008_02_29: Florida:
floor: Casey Overton: 9.675:

Whip through to a double pike and came right back with another double pike - finishes with a whip 1/2 to whip full - just in bounds - deductions on the second pass (head down, chest low, controlled step forward) and the balance check on the final pass that almost led to clear out of bounds step.

2008_02_29: Florida:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.800:

Front aerial to start - slight check at the shoulder - switch leap to straddle - bhs to layout step-out - sheep jump - side straddle jump - very nice - dismounted with a bhs to gainer full twist - small hop on landing.

2008_02_29: Florida:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.875:

Strong Y 1/1. Nails it and just floats in place, no steps forward or back.

2008_02_22: LSU:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.850:

Small hop on the dismount cost her the higher score (bhs to gainer full twist off the side).  Excellent rhythm and extension/toe point throughout the other elements.

2008_02_22: LSU:
floor: Casey Overton: 9.775:

Whip to double tuck to open, double pike for second pass (chest down, step forward to balance landing) - finished with a whip 1/2 to whip full twist - step to the left to control the landing as well.  Choreography also was not in balance with the music at spots.

2008_02_22: LSU:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.800:

Yurchenko 1/1 - powerful block off the table, good rotation in the air, well-centered, but hopped back on landing

2008_02_08: Arkansas:
floor: Casey Overton: 9.850:

Whip to double tuck, whip ½ to whip ½, finished with a round off to whip ½ to whip full twist.

2008_01_11: Illinois:

Front aerial, bhs to layout step-out, switch leap to two straddle jumps, running side straddle leap, bhs to full twist dismount.

2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals:
vault: Casey Overton: 9.725:

Hristakieva looked pretty good in the air, but a hop forward on the landing and knees bent a bit too much probably cost her the higher score.

2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.800:

What a terrific lead-off routine!  She hit all the elements (front aerial, switch leap to straddle-straddle jump combination, bhs to layout step-out, running switch side straddle leap, full turn to sheep jump, bhs to gainer full twist dismount, stuck it!) and her routine was marred only by a small foot lift on the full turn.

2007_03_31: SEC Championships:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.875:

This was Casey's best effort since the Georgia meet, she never stopped the routine and except for the small hop on the landing of the dismount (bhs to gainer full twist off the side), this was a perfect routine.  Front aerial, bhs to layout step-out, switch leap to straddle-straddle combination; full turn to sheep jump; running switch side leap were terrific highlights.

2007_03_09: UCLA:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.850:

Ditto for Casey's routine, she never seemed to stop throughout and stuck the bhs to gainer full twist dismount.

2007_03_02: LSU:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.825:

Also had tiny balance checks on the front aerial, slight shoulder drop on the switch leap as she moved into the straddle-straddle combination; solid flight series (bhs to layout stepout) and a hop on the landing of the gainer full twist out of a bhs.

2007_02_23: North Carolina:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.850:

Small hop on the landing of the dismount (bhs to gainer full twist) and the only other noticeable balance check was during the first element, front aerial (slight foot and shoulder check); rest of routine flowed well, no checks: bhs to layout step-out, switch leap to straddle-straddle combination; switch side leap, full turn to sheep jump.

2007_02_16: Arkansas:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.800:

This was a very solid routine until the final hop forward on the gainer full twist dismount out of a bhs. A front aerial, bhs to layout stepout flight series, switch leap to straddle jump, switch side straddle leap (slight lean forward but never stopped her rhythm), a full turn to sheep jump were other highlights.

2007_02_16: Arkansas:
vault: Casey Overton: (Exhibition: 9.775):

Hristakieva (Yurchenko 1/2 twist on - front layout off) had a little macaroni or Gumby bend while in the air, hop forward on the landing.  Score was not readily available.

2007_02_10: Georgia:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.875:

Just a terrific routine from start to finish!  Front aerial, bhs to layout step-out, switch leap to straddle jump, full turn, sheep jump, side switch straddle leap, bhs to gainer full twist dismount, stuck the landing!

2007_02_10: Georgia:
floor: Casey Overton: (Exhibition: 9.5):

Opened with a beautiful double pike and added difficulty this week with her second pass, a double tuck (landed chest down and forward but stood it up); finished with a round off to whip 1/2 to whip full twist, had to deep knee-bend the landing to stand this final pass up.

2007_02_10: Georgia:
vault: Casey Overton: (Exhibition: 9.750):

Hristakieva vault looked better in the air and on landing than the score indicates.

2007_02_02: Kentucky:
floor: Casey Overton: 9.650:

Beautiful opening double pike, excellent height and well-controlled landing; double twist for her second pass; ended with a round off to whip 1/2 to whip full twist.  Also included a cat leap full, split leap to straddle full to straddle 1/2 series.  Not sure where the harsh deductions came from other than the start value being at a 9.90 for the second and third tumbling passes not being "up to the level" of competition?  Coach Patterson mentioned Monday Night on "Hey Coach!" that Casey had practiced a more difficult second pass that would get her routine up to a 10 start value for the Georgia meet.

2007_02_02: Kentucky:
beam: Casey Overton: 9.750:

Good leadership displayed by the freshman in her debut routine on beam for the home crowd.   Following Erin's mishap, Casey looked amazingly confident in executing her skills and did not hesitate until a leap combination near the end of her routine, which likely was the primary deduction given by the judges.  Front aerial to a perfect bhs to layout stepout, full turn, switch 1/4 turn straddle leap, switch leap to sheep jump (this is where the slight hesitation occurred, possibly resulting in her not getting full bonus for connection); ring leap (head needed to be extended a little further back to get maximum credit); dismounted with a bhs to gainer full twist, stuck it!  Her teammates were ecstatic for her.
