2010_04_10: NCAA Regionals: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Opens with a double layout - super - cat leap 1 1/2 - second pass of a double tuck out of a tuck through to round off - excellent - switch split leap full to split full combo - boogie time - closes with a final double tuck – great landing as well – all smiles as she exits the floor. |
2010_03_27: SEC Championships: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: First pass of the double layout was super; a little jam down of the landing of her second pass (tuck through to round off to double tuck) and she shuffled back two steps on the landing of her final double tuck but stayed well in bounds. A lot of energy and power to contain in those four corners! 2nd Team All SEC in the All Around for 2010. |
2010_03_27: SEC Championships: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Great senior leadership on this event after the unexpected break from Marissa – likely had form deductions on her final leap series and the cowboy form on the dismount (double tuck). |
2010_03_27: SEC Championships: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.675: Short on all handstands unfortunately – step on the double front dismount, cowboy form as well. Pike Jaeger release looked effortless as usual. |
2010_03_27: SEC Championships: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Y 1/1 had great distance, amplitude – hop back on landing. Tied for SEC Champion on this event, third year out of four. |
2010_03_19: Michigan: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Double layout to open, tuck through to round off to double tuck for her second pass, closed with another double tuck - step back to balance the landing (excellent amplitude on all three). Like a walk in the park. |
2010_03_19: Michigan: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Smooth routine - bhs to layout stepout; front aerial to flutter jump; switch split side straddle leap; switch split leap to flutter jump; double tuck dismount, small check of one foot on the landing. |
2010_03_19: Michigan: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.725: Nice first handstand - pike Jaeger - looked solid for the second and third handstand - definitely short on the last one; bounds forward on the double front dismount - legs separated as well. |
2010_03_19: Michigan: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Y 1/1 - excellent vault. |
2010_03_05: Oklahoma: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.750: Bhs to layout stepout - balance check of one foot - switch split side straddle leap - full turn - front aerial to beat jump - switch split leap to beat jump - dismounted with a round off to double tuck - one step on the landing. This is the only routine so far this year where she appeared tentative, which was consistent with some of her struggles in the long and 3-minute warm-ups - lighting, equipment may have affected her performance to an extent. |
2010_03_05: Oklahoma: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Double layout to open - cat leap 1.5 - tuck through to a round off to a double tuck - nice! Switch split to split full combo - closed with a double tuck. Another strong performance. |
2010_03_05: Oklahoma: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Y 1/1 - bunny hop back - great amplitude and distance. |
2010_03_05: Oklahoma: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Smooth form, excellent amplitude on the pike Jaeger; short on two handstands, sticks the double front chest high but legs apart. |
2010_02_26: Kentucky: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Bhs to layout stepout - switch split side straddle jump (nice extension and amplitude) - front aerial - switch split leap to straddle jump - dismounted with a double tuck - excellent landing this week. |
2010_02_26: Kentucky: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Super double layout - cat leap 1 1/2 - tuck through to a double tuck - final pass of a double tuck landed chest high and stayed comfortably in bounds. Nice presentation, smiled throughout to engage the crowd and judges. |
2010_02_26: Kentucky: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: Y 1/1 - great vault and stick. |
2010_02_26: Kentucky: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Solid routine to open - nice first handstand, just short on the final one - nice, high pike Jaeger - small hop in place with the double front dismount, excellent amplitude on the saltos. |
2010_02_19: Arizona: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Opened with a double layout - cat leap 1 1/2 - front tuck through to a double tuck – chest down on landing, requiring a step forward on one foot - closed out with a double tuck - keeps it in bounds. Second pass execution could arguably have been deducted more. |
2010_02_19: Arizona: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Bhs to layout stepout – nice control - switch split leap in straddle position on the side - front aerial to beat jump - switch split leap to beat jump (a little tentative on the first element, back leg drags a bit) - dismounted with a round off to double tuck - one quick foot back to check the landing - great height on that element. |
2010_02_19: Arizona: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Stuck double front dismount but legs separated in the air - nice amplitude and form on the pike Jaeger - short on 3 of her handstands, costing her the higher score. |
2010_02_19: Arizona: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Y 1/1 - huge vault in the air, tiny hop back on landing. |
2010_02_12: Florida: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: Opened with her super signature double layout. Cat leap 1 1/2 - nice hand and arm positions in line with the music as she danced into the corner for the second pass - tuck through to round off to another double tuck - switch split full leap to split full combo - closed out with a high double tuck - super finish. |
2010_02_12: Florida: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Bhs to layout stepout - switch split side straddle leap - front aerial to beat jump - switch split leap to beat jump - dismounted with a round off to double tuck - one foot lunges back sharply to balance the landing, so that will be at least one tenth deduction likely. Otherwise a very solid routine from the senior. |
2010_02_12: Florida: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.750: Giant 1/2 to front giant to Pike Jaeger (good first handstand) - nice bail to handstand on the low bar - double front dismount - sticks it with the slightest shift of one foot but short on the last handstand. |
2010_02_12: Florida: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Y 1/1 - huge vault but hop back on the landing. |
2010_02_05: LSU: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Leg lift on the second element of her bhs to layout stepout but does not break at the waist or shoulder - aggressive switch side leap in straddle position - front aerial to beat jump - very nice - switch split leap to beat jump - round off to double tuck - one step back. |
2010_02_05: LSU: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Double layout to open - great landing - cat leap 1 1/2 - front tuck through to round off to double tuck - chest down but she nails the landing - dances for the crowd - closed with a final double tuck - excellent landing. |
2010_02_05: LSU: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Y 1/1 - nice position in the air and good distance but hops back on the landing. |
2010_02_05: LSU: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Effortless pike Jaeger release - missed one handstand noticeably in the middle of this routine - double front dismount, small foot check on the landing. |
2010_01_30: PennState,Minnesota: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Flight series - bhs to layout stepout - switch side straddle leap - front aerial to beat jump - full turn - switch split leap to beat jump - round off to double tuck dismount - one small step back on the landing, chest high position. Confident routine. |
2010_01_30: PennState,Minnesota: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.675: Beautiful pike Jaeger - but her handstands were not sufficiently in vertical position relative to the top of the bar and she had some bent arms at various points during kips to handstands; this was where the judges likely gave her the greatest deductions - a difficult double front dismount - one step on the landing. |
2010_01_30: PennState,Minnesota: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Y 1/1 - great vault in the air and distance from the table - a small hop back on the landing kept it from perfection. |
2010_01_30: PennState,Minnesota: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Strong opening pass of a double layout (head down a bit on landing) - cat leap 1 1/2 - front tuck through to a round-off to double tuck - no problems with the boundary mark this year - finished with another double tuck - had a little extra momentum on the landing, requiring her to put on the brakes with a step back of her right leg while also pushing down firmly on her front left leg. Coach Raschilla happy to see this one stay in bounds this year. |
2010_01_22: Arkansas: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Double layout - excellent - cat leap 1 1/2 - front tuck through to round off to double tuck - great landing - switch split leap full to split leap full combo - another excellent double tuck to close a magnificent all-around and team performance. |
2010_01_22: Arkansas: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Running tuck jump mount - bhs to layout stepout - very nice form and amplitude. Straddle switch leap with 1/4 turn - front aerial to beat jump - full turn - switch split leap to beat jump - dismounted with a double back in tuck position, one small check on the landing. |
2010_01_22: Arkansas: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Super form on the pike Jaeger, better job on the handstands this week and the arms were straighter - stuck double front dismount, legs need to be tighter in form during rotation. |
2010_01_22: Arkansas: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: Y 1/1 - on looking at the video review from a different angle (back), it appeared that she had her chest down a bit on the landing with a little knee-bending but it was otherwise highlighted by excellent blocking, twisting and a stuck landing. |
2010_01_15: Georgia: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Opened with her signature sky high double layout - flawless! Switch split leap to cat leap 1 1/2 - second pass - front tuck through to a double tuck - excellent - switch split leap full to split full combo - dance is sassy at this next point - closed with a double tuck - a little bounding bounce back on one foot but she achieved super amplitude once again. Just needs to spot that landing a little better. |
2010_01_15: Georgia: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Bhs to layout stepout - solid - switch split straddle side leap - front aerial to flutter jump combination - switch split leap to flutter jump - round off to double tuck dismount - form problems mid-air (legs split) with one step back on the landing. |
2010_01_15: Georgia: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Y 1/1 - great amplitude and form - small hop back before moving into a salute. |
2010_01_08: Auburn: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Bhs to layout stepout - gorgeous in the air - switch split side straddle jump - very nice - front aerial - pinpoint body alignment and accuracy on that landing - switch split leap to straddle jump - dismounted with a round off to double tuck - one small step on landing, form was a little messy. |
2010_01_08: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Double layout to open, front tuck through to a round off to a double tuck for her second pass - lots of new groovy dance - crowd clapped along with her near the end where she has some unique, funky dance moves - closed with another double tuck - a shuffle back on the landing (lots of power) but stayed in bounds. This routine deserved a little higher score relative to the routines that preceded and followed it on floor. |
2010_01_08: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Y 1/1 - miild form problems but well-centered and stuck on landing |
2010_01_08: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.650: Form problems on the double front dismount, jarred landing backwards on one foot as well. Deductions also came for missing perfect vertical position on two of her handstands - very nice pike Jaeger. |
2009_04_04: NCAA Regionals: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Nice bhs to layout stepout - switch leap to straddle jump - front aerial - works down on the beam - round off to double tuck dismount - one step back on the landing. |
2009_04_04: NCAA Regionals: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Hits the first handstand perfectly - huge front giant to pike Jaeger - nice bail to handstand - just misses perfect on the final handstand - slight check in place of the double front Arabian (E). |
2009_04_04: NCAA Regionals: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Yurchenko 1/1 - big hop back but huge in the air and great distance. |
2009_04_04: NCAA Regionals: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Gorgeous double layout to open - cat leap 1 1/2 - tuck through to round off to double tuck - great landing - split full to split full combination - closed with a terrific double tuck - confident landing and finish! |
2009_03_21: SEC Championships: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Double layout-tuck through to double tuck- finished with another terrific double tuck. Great to see the elation on her face as she moved into her final dance pose upon completing the final tumbling pass. |
2009_03_21: SEC Championships: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Flight series looked great - switch leap to straddle jump - front aerial (no flutter jump out of this) - double tuck dismount - step back on the landing. Left out the running switch straddle 1/4 leap and may have lost bonus by not throwing this element. |
2009_03_21: SEC Championships: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Great handstands until the end - her best all year until that point - one step back on the double front (blind) landing. Huge pike Jaeger. |
2009_03_21: SEC Championships: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Banked another super Yurchenko 1/1 for the Tide - great amplitude, form and barely moved on the landing. Bama crowd was on their feet yelling loudly in support, ready for more. |
2009_03_13: Oklahoma: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: Opens with a double layout - perfect - huge smile for judge Brock White and the crowd behind him - tuck through to round off to double tuck - a most excellent landing as well. Split full to split full jump combination - finishes with a double tuck - no problem with her stamina at the end of this amazing routine. |
2009_03_13: Oklahoma: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Bhs to layout stepout - switch leap to straddle jump - front aerial to beat jump - excellent timing and connection on both elements - dismounted with a round off to double tuck - big step back - seemed to catch her foot a bit going for the stick. |
2009_03_13: Oklahoma: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Front giant to super high pike Jaeger and really worked to get those handstands up quickly on top of the bar; double front dismount chest high this week actually had one check of the left foot on landing whereas originally it appeared from our angle that she had stuck the dismount. |
2009_03_13: Oklahoma: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Huge Y 1/1 in the air - amazing distance from the table. One step back on landing. |
2009_03_06: Stanford: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Super double layout - nails the landing of the double tuck out of a tuck through to round off - fancy and funky dance - finishes with a double tuck - super high and perfect landing. Crowd not happy with the final score, hoping for that mythical 10. We'll take it! |
2009_03_06: Stanford: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Bhs to layout stepout - holds that arm firm above her left shoulder to avoid any additional balance check - switch leap to straddle jump - front aerial to flutter jump - dismounted with a round off to double tuck, step back on landing. Left out the switch side straddle leap this week. |
2009_03_06: Stanford: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Pike Jaeger had huge amplitude and she took a step back on the double front dismount - cowboy form during rotation of this final element. Judges really want to see those handstands on top of the bar or darn close to it. |
2009_03_06: Stanford: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Y 1/1 - the best amplitude, distance of the night, just missed perfect stick - crowd erupted with a roar of delight and then commenced booing loudly when the score came up. |
2009_03_01: Penn St: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Bhs to layout step-out - switch straddle leap 1/4 looks good - full turn - front aerial - works down on the beam with a side pose - switch leap to straddle jump - very nice - dismounted with a round off to double tuck - one step back on the landing. May have been deducted for setting up the final dismount a little too long. |
2009_03_01: Penn St: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Great handstands by Morgan Dennis on her bars routine until the last one and she also threw a very nice pike Jaeger release, perfect bail to handstand on the low bar - one step on the double front dismount, landed chest high. Score: 9.775 - a full tenth off for that last missed handstand and then they tack on another one tenth for a one foot step on the landing of the dismount? Was her body a bit crooked during the transition from high to low bar (bail to handstand)? |
2009_03_01: Penn St: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Major distance and amplitude with her Y 1/1 - one rather loose hop back on the landing that the judges chose to whack her on particularly hard. |
2009_03_01: Penn St: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.500: Opened on floor with her signature high-flying double layout - even the partisan PSU crowd loved it - tuck through to a double tuck - another excellent landing - unfortunately takes several steps back on the final double tuck right out of bounds (argh! - she had it, looks like she was going for the stick, so that will be a major deduction as well). Her lowest score on this event in 3 years, that's how reliable and consistent she has been for the Tide. |
2009_02_27: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: Opened with another superb double layout, second pass of the tuck through to a round off to double tuck - closed with a terrific and solid double tuck - crowd goes nuts, almost gets a 10 from both judges. Some small deductions could have been taken on the initial pass (slight lift of her foot to balance as she moved into a pose position following the double layout) and a controlled but observed step back on the second pass landing. |
2009_02_27: Auburn: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Bhs to layout stepout flight series - switch leap straddle 1/4 - front aerial - switch split leap to straddle jump - nice - dismounted with a round off to a double tuck - (hop back). Huge smile for the judges and her teammates. |
2009_02_27: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Steady pace from start to finish with this routine - beautiful pike Jaeger way above the high bar, great body extension, perfect bail to handstand and a terrific double front dismount - both revolutions above the high bar and a stuck landing. This routine showed excellent concentration from the New Jersey native. |
2009_02_27: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Great amplitude and even a little flair in this Y 1/1 - smallest shuffle of the feet on landing. |
2009_02_20: Florida: beam: Morgan Dennis: 8.625: Nice flight series of the bhs to layout step out - switch leap split 1/4 looked fine - full turn - leg lift to balance - then fell on the front aerial - threw a switch leap - straddle after missing the combo in the first attempt, so that was a deduction as well. Touched down on her double tuck as well. Tough night on this event for the junior. |
2009_02_20: Florida: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Double layout to open - beautiful! Cat leap into the corner - tuck through to round off to a double tuck - very nice! Closed with a double tuck - perfect! She sparkled in this routine from start to finish. |
2009_02_20: Florida: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Great Yurchenko 1/1 as well - no major bounce back this week - better control in the air and on landing. |
2009_02_20: Florida: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Stuck her landing of the double front and added the difficult combo of the pike Jaeger to a pak salto - cowboy form on the dismount and possibly hit hard for the handstands/elbow positions not being straight. |
2009_02_13: LSU: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Pike Jaeger - beautiful form - bail to handstand (nice position on the low bar) - step back on the double front followed by a smaller step to the right to counter her balance, hence the lower score than usual. |
2009_02_13: LSU: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Hits a beautiful Y 1/1 - crowd roared with approval and a sigh of relief. |
2009_02_06: Denver: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Worked extra hard for those handstands this week and it paid off; nice pike Jaeger, and a tiny step on the double front dismount. Rotation was better on the dismount but a little slower during the transition from low to high bar. |
2009_02_06: Denver: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: popped back on one foot on the Yurchenko 1/1 - huge in the air and great distance, she actually got more amplitude on the twist (really flared better this week). |
2009_01_30: Arkansas: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.275: Opened with a bhs to layout stepout - fell on the second element, was going for the third layout but hesitated in her flight and lost balance. Rest of the routine was rock solid - switch leap to scissor jump - front aerial - switch side 1/4 leap. Double tuck dismount - stuck it! |
2009_01_30: Arkansas: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Huge opening double layout - perfect landing with a huge smile from Morgan - great second tumbling pass as well of the tuck through to round off to double tuck - finisheed with another double tuck, step back to control landing - all three passes well in bounds - changed her dance a bit near the end to break up a series that looked a little repetitive - it flowed better at that point as a result. |
2009_01_30: Arkansas: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Hop back on her huge Yurchenko 1/1 - big in the air. |
2009_01_30: Arkansas: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Executes the pike Jaeger release but leaves out the pak salto and the toe on toe off 1/2 - step back on the double front dismount. Missed last handstand. |
2009_01_23: Georgia: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Very confident execution of the flight series (bhs to layout stepout); switch 1/4 straddle leap- front aerial to scissor jump - switch leap to straddle jump - dismounted with a double tuck - hop back on the landing with a huge smile from the junior upon finishing. |
2009_01_23: Georgia: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: High double layout to open - well within bounds - tuck through to round off to double tuck - chest down a bit on landing - switch leap to switch leap full combination - very nice - finished with a high, strong double tuck - very nice! Deducted mainly on the second pass and needs to show a little more energy in the dance interpretation sequences. |
2009_01_23: Georgia: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Big step back on her Yurchenko 1/1 but great amplitude achieved. |
2009_01_23: Georgia: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Front giant to pike Jaeger and she nails the double front dismount. Lots of happy faces on the Tide side. Zapped a bit for not being perfectly vertical on the handstands. |
2009_01_16: Kentucky: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Finished up for the Tide with a soaring double layout (chest down a bit, small step forward to counter) - tuck through to round off to double tuck, well within bounds this week - finished with a double tuck and on time with the music and last pose. Music is a little monotonous and hard for the crowd to follow at points but if Morgan sells this routine with more eye contact and expressive smiles, it may not matter in the long run. |
2009_01_16: Kentucky: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Very nice bhs to layout stepout - switch 1/4 straddle leap - full turn - some new choreo - front aerial to scissor jump - another switch split leap but left out the combined jump that usually comes at this juncture; turned around and executed it in the other direction but this time with a straddle jump connection - stuck the double tuck dismount. |
2009_01_16: Kentucky: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.225: Fell on bars for the first time in her Tide career but it was during her new combination (pike Jaeger to pak salto) that she actually completed successfully but did not kip back up sufficiently in the proper handstand position on the low bar to control the 1/2 turn needed on top (one arm was bent as well) - Coaches will continue to work with her on fighting for every remaining .025, as she took unusual steps on the double front dismount as well. |
2009_01_16: Kentucky: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: A great Y 1/1, with a shuffle back on the landing; amplitude was exceptional. |
2009_01_09: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.700: Huge double layout to open. Cat leap double - tuck through to a double tuck - step back and just out of bounds - switch split to split full twist - double tuck to finish, a little short, step forward on the landing but she stayed in bounds and stood it up. One judge did not see the out-of-bounds step and they ended up conferencing, going for a 9.800, with one-tenth automatic deduction, resulting in the final score of a 9.700. Morgan historically struggles in the first meet to find her "boundaries" so to speak on the floor and then settles in for what has been unbelievable consistency on this event in her previous two years. So she should be good to go next week. |
2009_01_09: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: The best season start-off vault from Morgan - Y 1/1 essentially stuck. She was getting some of the best amplitude off this vault table during long warm-ups, so this performance did not come as a surprise. |
2009_01_09: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Executed the pike Jaeger release and the double front dismount with no problem but missed verticial on the handstands, so this scored lower than usual. She has to get those handstands on top of the bar and keep her arms straight to get the higher scores in the future. |
2008_04_12: NCAA Regionals: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Another perfectly stuck Y 1/1 - crowd behind us yelling "10" - unbelievable performance by the Tide on this event - Morgan gets the big score of 9.95 for her great amplitude and stuck landing chest high. |
2008_04_12: NCAA Regionals: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Double layout (E) to open - superb as usual. Follows with the second E pass of a tuck full in - awesome control in the air and on landing - switch leap to switch leap full combo - finishes with a tuck through to bhs to double tuck - awesome again! Where do you take off? Big hug from the Bama coaches and a loud Roll Tide Roll can be heard from the large Bama contingent behind us. |
2008_04_12: NCAA Regionals: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Front aerial to beat jump - nice. Flight series - bhs to layout step-out to another layout stepout - perfect! Switch leap to straddle jump - looks good - switch side leap straddle - very nice - round off to double tuck - one step back on the landing. Whoosh! |
2008_04_12: NCAA Regionals: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Pike Jaeger out of a front giant and she sticks the double front dismount. |
2008_03_29: SEC Championships: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Huge Yurchenko 1/1 - not a stuck landing but pretty close. |
2008_03_29: SEC Championships: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Great routine from start to finish - double layout with amazing amplitude and position in the air; tuck full in for her second pass, front tuck through to a round off to bhs to double tuck to close. Tied for 1st on this event. |
2008_03_29: SEC Championships: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Front aerial to beat jump; bhs to layout-layout; switch leap to straddle (a little more split in the straddle and amplitude would be rewarded likely); side straddle leap; round off to double tuck, small check on landing. Excellent routine. |
2008_03_29: SEC Championships: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Coach Patterson has identified one of Morgan's main deductions in this routine as being her tendency to periodically bend her arms during kip casts to handstands. When she keeps the arms straight and smooth throughout this element, her body line looks better and she gets on top of the bars quicker. Pike Jaeger release had a little split at the beginning as she entered into it from the front giant; as usual, the rhythm and flow of this routine was really nice; excellent dismount of the double front. |
2008_03_21: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: opens with a double layout - follows with the ultra difficult second pass of a tuck full in (nails it too) - closes with a tuck through to double tuck - awesome landing of this final difficult combination - the crowd is completely on their feet in appreciation of her routine and the team's amazing effort on this event tonight. |
2008_03_21: Auburn: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.725: Perfect flight series of bhs to two layout stepouts - switch leap to straddle - full turn - switch leap to wolf - running side straddle jump - very nice - dismounts with a double tuck, mat slips back and she has to take a lunging step back - the only thing that marred an otherwise terrific routine. |
2008_03_21: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Hits all but one handstand - pike Jaeger - slight step on the double front dismount - huge smile for the judges. |
2008_03_21: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Yurchenko 1/1 executed with amazing amplitude and looks like she did not move on the landing from our angle. |
2008_03_14: Penn State: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Opens with her signature stratospheric double layout - follows with a superb tuck full in, closes with a front tuck through to a double tuck, too much bounce, hops back one step out of bounds, so that will mar what was looking like her best floor routine to date. |
2008_03_14: Penn State: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Front aerial to beat jump looks good - bhs to layout stepout to layout stepout - beautiful! switch leap to straddle jump - a little hesitation on the move into the second element - running switch side straddle leap - nice landing but could use more amplitude - perfect dismount of the double tuck - not a step - crowd roars in approval! |
2008_03_14: Penn State: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Hops forward on her dismount of the double front, misses final perfect handstand position but floats the pike Jaeger beautifully. |
2008_03_14: Penn State: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Y 1/1 with the slightest step in place - well-centered once again with incredible amplitude. |
2008_03_09: UCLA: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Floats the pike Jaeger and nails the dismount of the double front! Score is too tight! |
2008_03_09: UCLA: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Y 1/1 - great amplitude, well-centered - one of her best - just missed the stick. |
2008_03_09: UCLA: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Opens with a double layout - superb landing! boogey time - second pass of the tuck full in - form was a little loose but amazing amplitude again and right in line with the corner - will close with a front tuck through to a double tuck - great landing again and a final dance salute on time to the judge to her right. Whoosh! Way to come back Bama! |
2008_03_09: UCLA: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Front aerial to beat jump - beautiful form and amplitude, stretch - bhs to layout step-out - very nice amplitude; switch leap to straddle - nice - full turn - pick it up - switch leap side straddle - nice - dismounts with a round off to double tuck - hop in place on landing - good amplitude. |
2008_03_07: Stanford: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Front aerial and the bhs to layout stepout looks solid; switch leap to straddle jump - side straddle jump - looks good - dismounts with a round off to double tuck, one step back. |
2008_03_07: Stanford: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.725: Nice pike Jaeger and a double front dismount, one step forward on the landing - cowboy position so expect this one to be hit harshly in comparison to the others so far |
2008_03_07: Stanford: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Hops back on her Y 1/1 - good position in the air and during twisting. |
2008_03_07: Stanford: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.750: Opens with a double layout - very nice! Tuck full in for her second pass, bounces one foot just out and over the line - more boogeying - finishes with a tuck through to double tuck - in bounds, no trouble on that final pass - great difficulty, but a deduction automatically of one tenth for just going out on the second pass. Score: 9.850 but this changes to a 9.750 for the one tenth deduction. |
2008_02_29: Florida: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Opened with a stupendous double layoutdouble tuck for her second pass - bounced back a bit on one leg to control the landing but well within bounds - front tuck through to a double tuck - landed with better control right within one beat of the final dance salute to end on time. Crowd was on its feet by this time, showing its appreciation for great efforts from both teams. |
2008_02_29: Florida: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Front aerial - beat jump - bhs to two layouts - crowd loved it - switch leap to straddle - gets it this week - Running side straddle jump - nice - round off to double tuck dismount - one step forward, nice in the air. |
2008_02_29: Florida: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.700: Beautiful pike Jaeger, appeared to hit the handstands well but may have missed the critical last one; and one step on the double front dismount was deducted as well, along with cowby form on this element. |
2008_02_29: Florida: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Great Y 1/1 as well, slight step in place on the landing - nobody gets higher than Morgan. |
2008_02_22: LSU: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.375: Great routine going with the bhs to layout-layout flight series looking rock solid. Had trouble on the switch leap to straddle jump combination (fell after completing the second element and losing balance). Finished strong with a stuck round off to double tuck dismount. |
2008_02_22: LSU: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Great effort with all three tumbling passes - double layout, double tuck (tuck through to round off entry) - ended with another solid double tuck. Dance was well-received by the partisan Bengal Tiger crowd. |
2008_02_22: LSU: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Landed chest down a bit and off-balance with a step back. Great amplitude in the air but may have been overscored in relation to the previous vaults. |
2008_02_22: LSU: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Missed vertical on two handstands, nice pike Jaeger, one step on the double front dismount. |
2008_02_08: Arkansas: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.725: Double layout, double tuck, tuck through to another double tuck. |
2008_02_08: Arkansas: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: BHS to layout step-out to layout step-out, switch leap to tuck full jump to beat jump, switch leap to beat jump, double tuck dismount. |
2008_02_08: Arkansas: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: ½ turn to front giant to Pike Jaeger, double front dismount. |
2008_02_08: Arkansas: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Yurchenko 1/1 |
2008_02_01: Georgia: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Double layout, double tuck, tuck through to another double tuck. |

2008_02_01: Georgia: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: ½ turn to front giant to Pike Jaeger, double front dismount. |
2008_02_01: Georgia: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Yurchenko 1/1 |
2008_01_25: Kentucky: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: BHS to layout step-out to layout step-out, switch leap to tuck full jump to beat jump, switch side straddle leap, double tuck dismount. |

2008_01_25: Kentucky: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: ½ turn to front giant to Pike Jaeger, double front dismount. |
2008_01_18: Auburn: beam: Morgan Dennis: (Exhibition: 9.650): BHS to layout step-out to layout step-out, switch leap to tuck full jump to beat jump, switch leap to beat jump, double tuck dismount. |
2008_01_18: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Double layout, double tuck, tuck through to another double tuck. |
2008_01_18: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Yurchenko 1/1 |
2008_01_18: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: ½ turn to front giant to Pike Jaeger, double front dismount |
2008_01_11: Illinois: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.625: Double layout, double tuck, tuck through to another double tuck. |
2008_01_11: Illinois: beam: Morgan Dennis: (Exhibition: 8.750): BHS to layout step-out to layout step-out, switch leap to tuck full jump to beat jump, switch leap to beat jump, double tuck dismount. |
2008_01_11: Illinois: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.750: ½ turn to front giant to Pike Jaeger, double front dismount. |
2008_01_11: Illinois: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Yurchenko 1/1 |
2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Superb landing of the Y 1/1 when she needed it, marred only by split leg position, slight lift of one heel as she turned to quickly salute the judges. Definitely had the best height, position in the air and distance from the vault table. |
2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Beautiful double layout to open, a nice tuck full in for her second pass that had chest down just a little but she almost ran out of steam on the final pass (tuck through to a round off to double tuck), landing it with chest down and forward. |
2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Very nice front aerial, bhs to layout step-out, switch leap to tuck full jump to sissone lost a little bonus when the first and second elements were not clearly connected; switch leap to sissone; round off to double tuck dismount, one step on the landing. |
2007_04_14: NCAA Regionals: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Hit those handstands better and this would have scored much higher because her pike Jaeger was again effortless and she stuck the double front Arabian dismount as well. |
2007_03_31: SEC Championships: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Very polished routine as well, front aerial to start, bhs to layout step-out; switch leap to tuck full to scissor jump combination; switch leap to another scissor jump; round off to double tuck dismount, one foot check on the landing. |
2007_03_31: SEC Championships: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: This routine was better than the score indicated. Mo had amazing amplitude and form once again on the pike Jaeger but the judges seemed more interested in a stuck dismount, which she just missed landing perfectly (double front). |
2007_03_31: SEC Championships: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Great form, amplitude and distance with the Y 1/1, marred only by the hop back on the landing as well. |
2007_03_31: SEC Championships: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Super soaring tumbling passes, arguably should have won floor with the more difficult skills (double layout to open, tuck full in to follow, tuck through to ro to bhs to high double tuck, all landed well with excellent amplitude and form). All SEC as a freshman on this event (2nd Place) |
2007_03_16: Auburn: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: One step on the double back (tuck) dismount; a little more split and amplitude on her second leap series, and this routine would have been scored higher. All flight elements (bhs to layout step-out, front aerial) had excellent form and extension. |
2007_03_16: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Awesome double layout to open, a little crooked with her tuck full-in in terms of the tumbling line (just stayed in bounds); very nice finish with a tuck through to a round off to bhs to double tuck. |
2007_03_16: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Beautiful amplitude, form and distance but hop back on one leg revealed some execution problems. |
2007_03_16: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Small check of one foot in place on her double front dismount, a little cowboy form as well. Really improved this week on her handstands but missed one near the end too much not to be deducted. |
2007_03_09: UCLA: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Opened with a double layout, followed with a tuck full in and closed with a tuck through to a round off to bhs to high double tuck, right on time with the music this week to end. This routine truly appears effortless for Morgan. |
2007_03_09: UCLA: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Perfect execution of the front aerial and the bhs to layout stepout flight series and the best highlight was the awesome round off to double tuck to ice it! |
2007_03_09: UCLA: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.750: Missed a final handstand near the end that could have punctuated this routine, because the pike Jaeger was again effortless and she had one small step on the landing of the double front dismount. Nice swing, rhythm throughout. |
2007_03_09: UCLA: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Hop back on her Y 1/1 after achieving great amplitude and distance. She needs to stick it like she did in warm-ups. |
2007_03_02: LSU: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Opened with another soaring double layout, well-controlled landing. Added difficulty this week in her second tumbling pass with a tuck full in and in her third pass with a tuck through to a round off bhs to double tuck. Finished right with the music at the end of her final tumbling pass and a drop down dance move had to be left out given the lack of remaining time, requiring a small deduction. With the new dance sequences that Dana Duckworth incorporated at key points, this routine now flows much better from start to finish. |
2007_03_02: LSU: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Much more confident routine with the adjusted flight series (bhs to layout step-out). Beautiful front aerial, solid leap series; closed with a round off to double tuck dismount, one step back on the landing. |
2007_03_02: LSU: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Great distance as usual with the Yurchenko 1/1 but a hop back cost her the higher score. |
2007_02_23: North Carolina: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Opening double layout looked great, just a little tentative on the second pass of front-front full to front layout but her rhythm was not interrupted significantly; finished with more difficulty this week, a front tuck through to a round off to bhs to super high double tuck, great landing. Off the music just a wee bit at the end with her final dance salute. |
2007_02_23: North Carolina: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Her high-flying, effortless pike Jaeger is the highlight of this routine each week. Double front dismount had a little knee bend and a slight foot check on the landing. Handstands were not perfect but close. |
2007_02_23: North Carolina: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Terrific distance on the Y 1/1 but she took a step back on the landing and the judges whacked her. |
2007_02_16: Arkansas: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Soaring double layout to open, front-front full twist-front layout next (a little scoot forward to balance the final element and stay in bounds), and she just stepped on the line with the final pass of a double tuck (major height again this week). Judge hesitated for a few seconds and then raised the flag. Nice dance and presentation overall this week. |
2007_02_16: Arkansas: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.900: Awesome height, control in the air during twisting and the landing had one step back, garnered great distance as well. |
2007_02_16: Arkansas: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: She showed better handstands this week at the beginning of her routine, threw another effortless pike Jaeger and really nailed the double front dismount. One more hit handstand and this would have entered the 9.90 range or higher. |
2007_02_10: Georgia: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.325: Beautiful front aerial to open; then ran out of room just barely on the bhs to layout stepout - layout stepout flight series; looked pretty solid with rest of routine, including a switch leap to tuck full jump and a double tuck dismount. |
2007_02_10: Georgia: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Soaring double layout to open, front-front full twist to front tuck, finished with a round off to sky-high double tuck. Very nice tumbling but we need to see that gorgeous smile and eye contact more with the crowd. |
2007_02_10: Georgia: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Y 1/1 had great height, distance, small hop on the landing. |
2007_02_10: Georgia: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.775: Brushed her heels during the glide transition on the low bar, which probably was deducted about two tenths. Not as crisp on the double front dismount but a beautiful pike Jaeger was a nice highlight. |
2007_02_02: Kentucky: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Effortless double layout to open, front-front full-front layout to follow (not quite as smooth as previous meets), finished with another booming double tuck. We still would like to see a fresher dance sequence near the end of the routine since she already has this series at the beginning following her opening tumbling pass. Morgan is selling this routine much better after the first month of competition, especially at the beginning, but still needs to work on her eye contact with the crowd. |
2007_02_02: Kentucky: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.175: Morgan struggled in warm-ups (3 minute touch) and during the routine when she opened with the front aerial (bend to the waist on her right side); this may have made her a little nervous with her flight series (bhs to layout step-out to layout step-out), just missed the stick on the third element and having to hop off; switch leap to tuck full combination looked solid; full turn, switch leap to scissor jump was confident; dismounted with a round off to double tuck, one step on the landing. Good recovery too with the latter elements. |
2007_02_02: Kentucky: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.800: Better effort on the opening kip to handstand, followed by a 1/2 turn to front giant to a very nice pike Jaeger; stuck the double front dismount, a little cowboy form noted. If she can hit those handstands consistently, this will be a high-scoring routine. |
2007_02_02: Kentucky: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Nice control, height and distance on the Y 1/1, mainly deducted for a hop back on the landing. |
2007_01_26: Auburn: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.975: Great control on the opening double layout, and on the second pass of the front-front full to front layout; the ending double tuck was so high, another well-controlled landing too; two dance sequences are noticeably repetitive and really need to be changed for this routine to get the 10 score down the road. She is selling the routine better each week. |
2007_01_26: Auburn: beam: Morgan Dennis: 9.750: Her first competitive routine for the Tide on this event; very nice front aerial; bhs to layout step-out to layout step-out had slight shoulder bend on final element; nice switch leap to tuck full jump; double tuck dismount, one step back on the landing. Given the difficulty and overall execution, we thought this routine was a little underscored. |
2007_01_26: Auburn: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.850: Likely deducted on a few of her giant uprises that just missed perfect vertical positions on top of the high bar; the pike Jaeger release was huge in the air and she stuck the double front dismount, both revolutions above the high bar. Her first competitive bars routine at home. |
2007_01_26: Auburn: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.950: Had the best distance, height, form throughout her Y1/1; great vault. |
2007_01_19: Florida: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Double layout to open; adjusted second pass to fr-front 1/1 to fr tuck, double tuck to close |
2007_01_19: Florida: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.875: Omelianchik: Soft knees on front pike off but excellent height and distance |
2007_01_19: Florida: bars: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Great debut; super high pike Jaeger, almost stuck the double front dismount perfectly |
2007_01_12: Oklahoma: floor: Morgan Dennis: 9.925: Morgan Dennis anchored the floor event with a polished opening pass of double layout (super amplitude and form, well within bounds), followed by a front-front full to front layout and ended with another terrific pass of a double tuck, again amazing amplitude on this element as well. Morgan's routine was particularly impressive because of the extensive dance sequences throughout that did not allow her much time to breathe between tumbling passes. Her superb conditioning was evident throughout this routine and particularly when the final pass was thrown. |
2007_01_12: Oklahoma: bars: Morgan Dennis: (Exhibition: 9.800): Morgan Dennis exhibited her bars routine, highlighted by a gorgeous pike Jaeger; good rhythm and pace throughout the routine, ending with a stuck double front dismount, both revolutions above the high bar (9.80). |
2007_01_12: Oklahoma: vault: Morgan Dennis: 9.825: Freshman Morgan Dennis gained major airtime and distance with her Yurchenko 1/1 and was deducted mainly for a hop back on the landing and being off center a bit as well (9.825). |
