for her beam routine. Jeana Rice is now up and completes her two layouts (one step back). She completes the wolf full and her gymacro series. Now we have the...fall on her standing gainer. Sorry Tide fans, we just gave the dawgs the open door they were looking for.

[ top... ]
Alexa Martinez gets a 9.85! [ 9:02 AM, 03/23/02 ]

Sterner is up next and we need this one! She is through her flight series. Argh! She touches down on the beam on her straddle Popa. She is now trying to complete her routine without further deductions; she nails the double pike dismount. Major deductions will be taken for the form break on her straddle Popa. Bryan's face is stone right now.

[ top... ]

[ top... ]
Raegan gets a 9.70 [ 8:57 AM, 03/23/02 ]

for her beam routine (they may not have given her credit for the leap series since she had to repeat it). Hrozek is through her flight series and her gymacro. Her leaps series are looking great and she dismounts with a double twist off to the side (one step). Bama is giving away vital tenths and we must have some big scores to follow.

[ top... ]
Raegs is up first and can [ 8:54 AM, 03/23/02 ]

make amends for her bars mishap. She is on with her front punch mount and now comes the flight series. SOLID!Four leaps and a solid front walkover. [ top... ]
Raegan just missed her [ 8:36 AM, 03/23/02 ]

bars routine (broke one of her swings and had to redo it) and she also sat down her dismount. The remaining ladies have to go for the gusto to garner the bigger scores or we're sunk. You can do it Bama!

Blood red velveteen with criss-crossing spangles and net sleeves. Very elegant. UGA is wearing red white and blue outfits (they are truly patriotic). Coach Sarah Patterson is wearing a cranberry silk pantsuit. Bryan Raschilla is pumping the girls up on floor, getting them ready to rock and roll to a big score. Auburn is wearing the same outfit they wore at the BJCC meet this year (deep blue and white with a cropped collar). LSU is in purple and black. Raegs just nailed her double front Arabian in warm up. Yoculan is standing right in front of us so we'll have to mind our manners. ROLL BAMA!

[ top... ]
That Gator fan behind us just yelled [ 7:12 AM, 03/23/02 ]

"Go Gators, we own the night!" Where have we heard that before? Oh, yeah about two years ago down in Gainesville, when the Tide won the 2000 SEC Championship. Maybe this is a good omen?

[ top... ]

you have all been waiting for. We've spotted Coach Yoculan's attire first, which is a solid red pantsuit. More to follow after the lights are relit. "God Bless America" is playing on the speakers and we are waiting for the entry of the teams.

[ top... ]
It looks like the Tide may be throwing [ 6:53 AM, 03/23/02 ]

tee-shirts into the stands if our ladies score big tonight. We see Pam Crowe with her two sacks of shirts, so watch out! The tension is building as we move closer to the start of this great competition.

from Alexa Martinez. Jeana just nailed her flight series (has to get used to the beam). Nice standing back gainer and a double twist dismount.

[ top... ]
What a gorgeous [ 6:24 AM, 03/23/02 ]

switch leap to Korbut (fish flop) by Natalie Barrington (it had great height and extension backwards). Kristin just threw her double pike (one step back).

[ top... ]
The Bama crowd [ 6:22 AM, 03/23/02 ]

is to our front and rotates around to our left, which will be great for our ladies since the beam is right in front of them (their final event). Jeana is struggling a bit with her layout series but lands her double twist very nice. Nice flight series by Andree. The double tuck dismount is right on!

[ top... ]
The Tide is warming up [ 6:15 AM, 03/23/02 ]

for the next 15 minutes while UGA moves to the beam, LSU to the vault and Auburn to the floor. Bama likes these bars because Andree and Jeana just threw two great routines. Tiffany, Shannon, Nat, and Raegan are warming up well also.

[ top... ]
Roots Woodruff is getting down to [ 5:51 AM, 03/23/02 ]

the music of LSU's Lauren Companioni. This is a very intimate arena and the crowd is almost right down on the floor with the gymnasts. It looks like UGA is going with Kinsey Rowe and Sierra Sapunar on the uneven bars tonight. Talya Vexler, Chelsea Byrd, Cory Fritzinger and Eileen Diaz will round out the team. Loren Simpson is also warming up for Gymdawgs on the bars.

[ top... ]
