They recently won the National title with Alabama's squad finishing second. Kentucky is known for their great cheerleading squads over the years and usually are the team to beat.

Patterson is helping her adjust on the flight series, which seems to be giving her the main trouble tonight.

Mari just threw a straddle-straddle-wolf combination. She looked very confident earlier on the uneven bars during warm-ups.

Alabama since Kentucky is on Eastern Time. The meet officially starts here at 7:30 pm EST, not 7:00 pm CST as mentioned on the front page of the website. Hopefully our webmaster will be changing that shortly.

they use extender bars that make the bars a little less flexible. Some of the Tide gals seem to like this effect while others are having to work harder to cast handstands or, in Ashley Miles' situation, push a little harder on the toe-on toe-off to reach the handstand position on the high bar. So it's not just the arena that the visiting teams have to adjust to, it's the equipment as well.

to Lexington with us, though we have a good contingency already filtering into the arena. Looks like the Tide fans will number at least 50-75 here tonight. Last week we had one side of the Tigers' arena that easily numbered 2000 wearing red and white. That's the hallmark of a championship team, their loyal fans will follow them near and far to support them.
