She
returned to the starting position in the bars line-up this week and
completed a terrific routine without major deductions. Super landing of the
double tuck out of a reverse giant-half turn combination. |
|
Dana Filetti |
9.775 |
She
completed the toe-on straddle release to the high bar as her first major
release, followed by a giant full turn to a Gienger release, ending with a
double front, one step on the landing. Handstands were not as crisp this
week and the judges deducted accordingly. |
|
Ashley Miles |
9.900 |
Another
super confident routine, toe-on toe-off to giant full turn to Tkatchev
release. She reached her handstands well and had just a slight shift of her
foot in place as she landed the booming double layout. |
|
Mari-Christine Bayer |
9.825 |
Great
piked Jaeger release (toes pointed) and she reached all of her handstands
with excellent extension and toe point as well. The full turn to a double
tuck dismount was landed chest high but with a tiny hop. This routine may
have been underscored a bit. |
|
Brittany Comeaux |
9.750 |
Bee just
looked a little fatigued this week on her vaulting runs and on her landings
of the double front off the bars (bent, two steps back). The rest of this
routine was very solid (love that Tkatchev). |
|
Jeana Rice |
9.900 |
Beautiful form as usual on the inverted giants and a solid dismount of a
full-in. |

A hop
back on the landing of the Yurchenko 1/1 was the only obvious deduction we
could see. |
|
Dana Filetti |
9.850 |
She is
so close to nailing this vault (Yurchenko full twist on-back pike off). One
tiny foot check in place on the landing. |
|
Shannon Hrozek |
9.900 |
Drilled
the landing of the Yurchenko 1/1 after a powerful run and launch off the
vaulting table. Her confidence has increased dramatically in just two
weeks. |
|
Lauren Holdefer |

At last!
We get to see the front pike ½ twist vault in competition and she stood it
up very well. One gets the impression that she could probably lay this
vault out easier than piking it. Form errors and a step on the landing were
likely deductions. |
|
Alexis Brion |
9.925 |
She
drilled the front pike ½ twist just like last week but it was not landed
quite as chest high, thus a .025 lower by one judge compared to last week's
score of a 9.95. Amazing amplitude. |
|
Ashley Miles |

Yurchenko 1/1 again had great height, distance, and excellent form but the
judges had to deduct for a hop back. |

She
opened this week with a booming double pike, then a front handspring to two
front layouts and finished with a very high double tuck (very nice form).
Her dance was more confident and she really played to the audience. |
|
Erin Rightley |
9.750 |
This
routine was looking like a winner until her third tumbling pass (front-front
full-front pike) when she had to bail midway and ended up throwing a front
through to a front tuck only (very awkward landing). This had been one of
her most confident tumbling passes but
Erin
just needs more reps to bring it all together like she is doing on the
balance beam with her recent exhibitions. Her first pass was new (Rudi
through to a layout-stepout) and her second pass was a double twist. |
|
Mari-Christine Bayer |
9.875 |
Once
again she showed off her wonderful dance skills in between tumbling passes
of a double pike (super height and landing), front-front full-front tuck,
and a double twist. |
|
Jeana Rice |
9.925 |
Another
great effort from the Longwood,
Florida
senior. Opened with a super piked full-in, a front-front full-front pike,
ending with a whip to a double twist (landed perfectly in time with the
music). |
|
Stephanie Kite |
9.725 |
Stephanie struggled again with the opening pass (small stumble on the third
element, front through to a double twist-punch front) and bailed on the
second pass after throwing the round-off-whip ½ to front tuck (instead of
two front layouts). She kept her composure and finished up strongly.

|
Ashley Miles |

This
routine obviously had a deduction only the judges could see. We gladly claim
ignorance as it appeared flawless to us. |

Rachael Delahoussaye |
9.775 |
For the
first time Rachael assumed the lead-off position on the beam so Coach
Patterson could mix things up and see how the team responded. Rachael had
several small balance checks (during flight series and a little hesitation
on some of her leaps) but landed her gainer back pike solidly. |
|
Shannon Hrozek |
9.775 |
Great
flight series (bhs-layout-bhs) and gymacro series (switch leap-bhs). A
little glitch on the combination hitch kick to sheep jump and on the last
leap series (switch leap to wolf, bailed on the second element). Stuck the
double twist dismount! |
|
Michelle Reeser |
9.825 |
Michelle
went from the lead-off position to third this week. This was a solid
routine until she went for the stuck dismount and ended up bending forward
at the waist to balance her landing. Nice leaps (switch leap-wolf and
switch leap-straddle). |
|
Dana Pierce |
9.300 |
Super
switch leap combination but she fell on the second element of her flight
series (two-footed bhs-layout) and lifted a leg on the side switch leap.
Small step on the landing of the cartwheel to gainer full twist. |
|
Mari-Christine Bayer |
9.775 |
Flight
series trouble continued as Mari almost missed the third element (Korbut out
of a front aerial to bhs). She recovered with a smile and kept going,
nailing the rest of her routine (her switch leap to gainer back pike
dismount awed some of the audience members unfamiliar with this move).
|
|
Jeana Rice |
9.900 |
She
demonstrated once again why she is in this position. Super flight series
(bhs-layout-layout) and gymacro series and a small step to the side on her
landing of the double twist dismount. |
