She had a little trouble on her new mount from the high bar to the uprise tilt over front giant (slight pause as she straddled up) but completed the routine with no major problems, highlighted by a very high Gienger release (small separation in the legs as she swung back down and prepared for her
transition to the low bar); she executed a nice blind change to 1/2 turn on the high bar to immediate double tuck dismount, chest high, solid landing.

This routine included two major release moves, a Gienger and a Pak Salto, and she was looking terrific until the dismount, when she slightly clipped her right foot on the low bar during her giant swing through, slowing her momentum into the double tuck dismount and causing her to touch her knee
down and forward. This routine is so much further ahead than we thought it would be even one month ago and we can't wait to see how she performs in front of the home crowd.

She had a beautiful full twist on top of the bar to immediate Tkatchev and was trying too hard to get bonus with extra amplitude, just missing the re-grasp. Nice recovery with her dismount of a giant to 1/2 turn to reverse salto off the high bar, landed chest high.

Her toe-on straddle release to the high bar and the Gienger release were very solid; some slight separation in her legs as well on the follow through but her transition to the low bar was remarkably improved in terms of execution (not rubber-banded and she reached handstand position). She had
to take an extra giant swing prior to the Gienger release after just slightly clipping the low bar as well, signs of a maturing, savvy bars worker. She had a nice dismount of a giant to a 1/2 turn to double front, one step forward and a little off-center as well. We can't say enough
about her confidence on this event for 2005 and expect higher scores soon.

This routine was jam-packed with difficulty, including the huge Shaposhnikova release to the high bar and a booming Hindorff release. Body lines and position in the air were taut throughout. She also stuck the double layout. This routine was underscored by about .05 in our opinion when
compared to the rest of the routines thrown.

She just missed her re-grasp on the pike Jaeger release and then had uncharacteristic trouble during her transition to the low bar, having to bail on this after over-arching on the handstand. Nice dismount of a full turn to double tuck.

Remarkable confidence shown throughout this routine. Friday night Rachael was a totally different-looking gymnast on this event compared to the Ghosts vs Goblins intrasquad and it looks like she may be set for the beam starting line-up position this year. She watered down her routine by
removing the switch leap to wolf combination but included the wolf full (beautiful amplitude and landing), the bhs-layout flight series, the wolf to Korbut (back layout-swing-down) and her new move, a side split jump, landed very well. A tiny hop almost in place on her gainer back pike dismount was
the only other problem we saw with this routine. Very confident, elegant choreography as well.

Her first competitive routine on beam for the Tide went well after she completed the opening flight series of a bhs-bhs-layout (major leg lift and arm maneuvering to save it). She watered down by taking out the opening leap (wolf full) but threw the straddle-straddle-wolf with very nice
amplitude and control and she also completed the switch leap-switch leap-Korbut combination with no hesitation. Dismount of the round off to gainer full twist, one small hop back on the landing. This routine will be a winner when she puts in the additional difficulty to increase her
scoring potential.

Strong routine from start to finish, including her new flight series, bhs-layout-layout, which she landed beautifully. She was much more confident with the switch leap to wolf jump and the hitch kick to sheep jump combination was perfect. Dismount of a round off to double twist, a step
to her left, slightly bent also at the knee, cost her at least one tenth. Otherwise, a great routine from the senior.

We love this routine. Dana's newfound confidence on this event for 2005 is wonderful to see. She hopped onto the end of the beam, leg lifted to a split scale. She will need to add a more difficult or creative mount because we think this is where the judges deducted her for lack of
composition consistency given her much more difficult dismount, a double twist (which she nailed). Her flight series was super solid, a handstand to immediate back layout. She also threw a leap series of a straddle-straddle-wolf combination and did travel just a bit down the beam as she
completed this series, so that might have been a slight deduction as well. She had a bhs-Korbut combination that was terrific and a sheep jump. Combining another leap to the sheep jump will be one of her upgrades, along with an additional layout in her flight series.

Tons of difficulty in her first competitive beam routine, starting off with the round off layout-step-out mount (major leg lift to balance her landing for at least two-tenths deduction). However, the rest of the routine looked super solid. A wolf full, a switch leap to switch side split jump
combination, a gainer back handspring to layout step-out, a shoulder roll and a wonderful round off to double tuck, landed chest high and without a step or wobble. Fantastic start for 2005 on this event for the Texas junior.

She had a nice aerial front walkover to immediate back handspring but bailed on the Korbut swing-down, losing bonus in the process. Her new move, a tour j'ete was landed with one step back to balance and she also completed the switch leap-straddle-wolf leap combination with a little hesitancy
and a dropped shoulder on the first element that cost her execution points. Very nice needle scale but the dismount of a gainer back pike had a step that was deducted for as well. Mari has been so confident during pre-season on this event that we expect her to perform much better in the
upcoming meets to show the coaches they can rely upon her to help anchor this event.

Music is from Tomb Raider. Opened with a front through to a 1 1/2 (Rudi), left leg lifted up upon landing. Second pass of a round off to double full, solid landing. Ended with a front-front full-front tuck (a little jammed on the second and third elements). Nice dance
elements, including a switch leap Popa to wolf Popa combination. Her music stopped as she prepared for her final tumbling pass but she didn't miss a beat. This routine will have major difficulty added in the coming weeks, including a Rudi to a layout-step-out and a huge double pike or
double layout.

New music from Backstreet Boys-Jet-Drumline. Terrific opening double pike, landed lightly on her toes as usual. Running side straddle leap-straddle Popa to straddle shushonova. Second pass of a front handspring to two front layouts (tiny split in the legs), landed very well.
Finished with a double twist, a little loose in form and one step to balance the landing (seemed just a tad fatigued at this point). Dana dances and tumbles all the way through this routine and when she is at 100% peak condition, she will add a whip through to double pike to open and a punch
front out of her double twist in the third pass. She sold this routine beautifully, deductions appeared appropriate and in line with the judges tendencies on this night.

She encountered a little trouble on her super high opening double pike, taking several steps back but remaining in bounds. The second pass consisted of a round off-whip 1/2-whip full, a little off to the side on the final element; she finished with a front handspring-front full-front
layout. Music is a combination of Higher Ground-Aerosmith-Kill Bill and the dance moves match Dana's personality and skills perfectly. Tide fans will dig this routine from start to finish.

New music from Strictly Ballroom. Opened with a super high double pike, followed by a front-front full-front tuck and finished with a round off to double full, all three passes landed beautifully. Mari has the best leaps on the team, including a double stag, switch leap, and a ring
leap. Excellent amplitude on each. The Tide fans will love this new routine as well.

In front of her parents, cousin and numerous Tide faithful, Alexis was in her element, dancing to Sandstorm, the music from her freshman routine. Her opening pass of a whip-bhs-double pike was superb, landed perfectly. She threw a whip full-whip full-front tuck and finished with a
front-front layout-front tuck. She will add the double tuck for her final pass to push the scoring beyond a 9.90. Wonderful presentation.

New music, new dance but the same dynamic Ashley. Wonderful stuck opening double layout, followed quickly by a cat-leap full and running side wolf jump into the corner, where she prepared for her next pass, a double pike, highlighted by another super landing. Last tumbling pass of a front, front
full, front layout, one smooth step back on the landing. During her floor routine, the other events had already been completed and all eyes were on Ashley, who made the most of her presentation. Dance combinations were executed very well, including the cat leap full and the full turn
(leg extended) to 1 1/2 tuck full. The home crowd will love this routine but will likely miss the seat drop-down move that has become her signature play with the crowd. It's gone for this year but may return for her senior campaign.

This was totally uncharacteristic of Dana and can be blamed on her missing a strong enough push off the vault table, resulting in no repulsion or height during the back pike off and an immediate touchdown forward. We feel confidently that the results will be different this next week.

On this date, she had average push off the table, affecting her twisting and form in the air and leading to a low landing forward. She caught herself by sheer strength from going down and must be applauded for the extra effort. Now we just need to see her use her awesome sprinting
ability to run through this vault and provide the additional force needed to properly lift her up and off the table before she even begins to twist the vault. She has scored as high as a 9.925 with this vault and has stuck it several times.

After struggling during warm-ups she came through and took a slight step on the landing; arguably could have scored a 9.80-9.85. Went in a little flat as well but usually gains wonderful height with this vault. She's starting off solid for 2005.

Best vault of the night. Terrific run, pre-flight, flight and the landing was stuck. Judges were at their stingiest on vault and beam all night long.
