One step back on the double front dismount; she executed another soaring Tkatchev out of a full turn on the high bar. Just missed vertical perfection on two handstands.

Super solid Gienger release and a pak Salto transition, handstand uprises were also nice. Held the double tuck dismount a bit too long out of the full turn and had to touch down on the landing. This will be a high-scoring routine when she pulls it all together.

Displayed excellent confidence despite having to perform on her least favorite type of bars (cable). She just missed vertical on two handstands and had a little leg separation on the Shaposhnikova transition to the high bar. Another booming Hindorff release was followed by a super
double layout, small hop on the landing.

Legs were not as tightly together this week compared to last week's exhibition but she hit all of her big skills, including two inverted giants, the Tkatchev and the reverse tuck off the high bar was landed without a step, slight leg separation during execution.

Great routine. Hit all of her handstands and the pike Jaeger release had excellent form. Stuck the double tuck out of a full turn.

The extra focus on hitting her handstands was successful this week. Beautiful toe-on to ½ turn to Khorkina release and an effortless double layout, marred only by a small hop back. Judges could have scored this a little lower and we would have been happy.

Brittany Comeaux

Yurchenko ½ on - front tuck - ½ off (tuck out)
Slightest lean to the left on landing this unusual and difficult vault. Very powerful explosion off the vault table.

Dana Pierce

9.825 (10.00)

Yurchenko Full Twist
One balance check on the landing (left foot) and a slight pike down. She has improved tremendously in the past two months with this vault.

Terin Humphrey
|
9.875 (10.00)

Yurchenko ½ on - front pike - ½ off (pike out)
Super vault, small hop on the landing only. She also landed it chest high with legs together, nice explosion off the vault table.

Yurchenko Full Twist
Wow, she achieved great distance and only had one small step on the landing for her first competitive vault (previously exhibited twice). This will be a critical vault for the Tide as they move towards post-season championship competition.

Front Pike ½ Twist
Powerful, small hop forward on the landing. She landed this vault better this week (chest up and back more than forward). |

Yurchenko Full Twist
One step forward on the landing as she tried to stick it big-time. Still achieved the best height and distance by far of any other vault being thrown, hence the higher score despite a step.

First and second passes were excellent (double pike, front layout-front layout) but she had to hop a little to the right on her third pass (double twist to punch front) after landing the punch a little low out of the twist. Great presentation and dance.

This routine reminded us of her best from freshman and sophomore years. She aced every pass, including the front pike through to a round-off back handspring to double pike (super landing), the front handspring-front layout-front full and the front through to a whip ½ to a
layout-stepout. It was great to see Michelle execute each element in such a complete and polished manner.

Her warm-ups were so solid with the double pike that we expected her to follow suit during the actual competition segment and she did not disappoint. Passes were much more controlled this week, no steps out of bounds or loose landings. Small pop back of her left leg after landing the
front-front full to front pike (third pass).

She obviously enjoyed performing in front of her home crowd and each pass was executed like it was her last (double pike, front-front full-front tuck, double twist). Great presentation of dance elements throughout.

Her extra effort to hit the big passes in bounds this week was apparent. Opening pass of a whip-bhs-double pike was landed so confidently and she closed with a double tuck with plenty of room to spare in the corner. Mother Laura Brion was on hand to celebrate.

Superb opening double layout; the subsequent front-front full-front layout and the double pike were landed without balance checks. Slightest of balance checks may have been discerned as she moved into one of her leaps.

Deductions were a little more obvious this week in terms of balance checks (slight one on the wolf full) and hesitation between the wolf to Korbut. The switch side leap needed to show a little more amplitude and toe point for maximum bonus. Rachael appeared a tad nervous during this routine.

She was definitely more confident this week in executing the flight series: bhs-layout-Korbut and the switch leap to wolf and the switch leap to straddle (left out another straddle but no obvious balance check occurred). Nice dismount of the bhs to gainer full twist.

This routine was comparable to her strong performance earlier this year against LSU. She hit the flight series: front aerial to bhs-Korbut and the switch leap ½ turn as well as the switch leap to straddle to wolf combination. Stuck the landing of the gainer back pike as well.

Nice switch leap to straddle-straddle combination and a two-footed back handspring to two-footed layout (slight lift of one leg on the landing). She also threw the switch side leap with confidence and nailed the dismount of the round off to gainer full twist. She won the all-around for
the first time at UA and her teammates appeared thrilled for her success on the beam especially.

Fell on the mount: round off layout-stepout but completed the rest of the routine well. Switch leap to switch side jump combination, a wolf ¾ leap, gainer back handspring to layout-stepout; double tuck dismount, one step on the landing.

Terin Humphrey

Executed the Humphrey mount, the Kotchetkova to back handspring to layout, a switch leap to ¾ back handspring in the split position, and a round off to back handspring to double tuck dismount, one step on the landing. Slight hesitation between the switch leap to the ¾ back handspring element
was one area the judges could have deducted and for not holding the split position longer.
