Uneven Bars Score Post Meet Commentary on Skills Executed and Deductions
1 Kaitlin White 9.725 Form looked very good on the Gienger release and the pak Salto transition move; hop forward on the landing of the double tuck dismount out of a giant full turn, slight bend at the waist as well.  A few deductions were also probably given on two of the handstands.  Overall, a very confident set.
2 Courtney Priess 9.775 The Arabian double front dismount landing was her best of the young season.  Very nice full turn to Tkatchev release; most likely deducted for missing the perfect handstand position on the straddle back transition to low bar and just missing vertical on another handstand near the end of the routine as she goes into the toe-on toe-off element.  We think this is one of the Tide’s best routines that maybe needs just one or two more elements to garner that higher score.
3 Cassie Martin 9.875 Hit all the elements this week like we knew she could and maintained nice rhythm, form and toe-point throughout.  Stuck her dismount as well.  Main highlights: toe-on toe-off to Tkatchev to pak Salto; front giant ˝ to double tuck dismount.
4 Melanie Banville 9.900 She added the toe-on toe-off straddle release to the high bar this week; started with a toe-on toe-off to full turn to Tkatchev; straddle back to straight handstand position on the low bar and a superb double layout, stuck it with a huge smile for the judges.  The entire arena broke out in applause.
5 Dana Filetti 9.725 The judges primarily deducted her for again missing that last handstand by more than 10 degrees and the step on the landing of her double front dismount.  Beautiful form on the Gienger release, amazing height as well.
6 Terin Humphrey 9.825 She threw both major release moves this week: the toe-on toe-off to ˝ turn to Markelov (Khorkina) release, followed by the Gienger release, giant with a full turn, transition to a perfect handstand on the low bar, double layout dismount, small hop on the landing.  The overall difficulty, toe point/extension, and her body control throughout, especially on the major releases, were worthy of a higher score in our estimation.

Vault Score Post Meet Commentary on Skills Executed and Deductions
1 Melanie Banville 9.825 Yurchenko 1/1 was a little piked down and slight shuffle of the feet on the landing but oh so close to a higher score.
2 Kaitlin White 9.800 Control was much better on the Yurchenko 1/1 this week, stuck the landing; again a little piked as she descended.
3 Dana Filetti 9.825 Hristakieva - we thought this vault was overall even cleaner than last week’s 9.875 effort at Auburn and should have scored higher; excellent form was maintained throughout the twisting and the landing was controlled and well-centered; no jarring this week, very small step on the landing only.
4 Terin Humphrey 9.875 Yurchenko 1/1 – stuck the landing but piked it a little in the process.  Her first vault of the 2006 season was a good one.
5 Brittany Magee 9.950 Yurchenko 1/1 – Her best effort of the year and the score reflected it.
6 Ashley Miles 9.950 Yurchenko 1/1 – Not quite as perfect as last week’s effort but we’ll take it.
EX Ashley Ford Tsukahara full twist (tuck) was stuck this week.  Excellent effort, needs now to lay it out to garner the higher score.

Floor Exercise Score Post Meet Commentary on Skills Executed and Deductions
1 Kaitlin White 9.575 Opening double pike (D) also had a step forward again this week to control her landing, but landed overall better than last week’s effort; punch layout to Rudi (D); round off-bhs-whip ˝-whip full twist (had to step one foot out of bounds on the third element).  Deducted automatically 1/10th for OOBs.
2 Erin Rightley 9.800 Opening pass of a double pike (D) had a lot of power and required a step back to control the landing; a little split in the front-front full to front layout; front hs to Rudi (D), a 1 ˝ twist, was twisted completely and landed much better this week, but again a control step back still had to be taken on the landing.
3 Brittany Magee 9.875 Terrific, well-controlled routine; landed all of her tumbling passes chest high; dance elements looked sharp as well (switch leap to split full; cat leap full) ˝ in ˝ out (E); whip-whip-bhs-double pike (D); front hs – double full (E)
4 Terin Humphrey 9.800 She opened with the double front Arabian as well this week (E) and followed with a 2 ˝ twist to punch front (D), finishing with a double pike (D).  You can see her confidence increasing each week with the tumbling passes.  Deductions came on the balance step back during her first pass and the balance check to the side on her landing of the final pass.
5 Cassie Martin 9.875 Long warm-ups were a little antsy again this week but the coaches went with her anyway: Cassie responded by sticking her first pass of a double front Arabian (E) chest high, no steps.  Front hs-front layout-front full twist was also stuck and she finished with a double twist, another terrific landing.  We need to see her perform like this against UGA at Coleman and the crowd will come alive.
6 Ashley Miles 9.950 Excellent, controlled landings on all three passes: Double layout (E); front-front full twist-front layout; double pike (D) to close.
EX Dana Pierce Opening double pike looked strong (D), two front layouts in her second pass and she finished with a double twist to punch front, again sitting down the final element this week because she went in a bit flat on the twist and needed more repulsion to pull the rebounding tuck completely around.  Almost there.

Balance Beam Score Post Meet Commentary on Skills Executed and Deductions
1 Brittany Magee 9.850 Her best effort as well to date: one-arm back handspring to layout step-out (awesome); front aerial (up on the toes); full turn leg extended horizontally; switch leap to wolf; front punch (slightest check on the landing, but again chest high); round off double tuck dismount, stuck it.
2 Courtney Priess 9.025 Chest press handstand mount to straddle swing-down onto the beam; straddle-straddle jump combination; unfortunately she had an uncharacteristic fall during the flight series (bhs-back pike, second element); switch leap to straddle side jump combo was very nice; punch front landed chest high, well-controlled; however, the dismount had to be changed after she completed the switch leap and had to check her landing; she turned and then completed a gainer back pike, small balance check on the landing.   She needs to exhibit as much as possible to get her confidence up.  This is a routine that could score high when her execution of the elements gains consistency.
3 Mari-Christine Bayer 9.525 Good news first: she executed the switch leap to side straddle jump combination perfectly, which has been her nemesis for most of the earlier meets.  However, she again struggled with small (and one large) balance checks that added up throughout the rest of her routine, which was highlighted by a front aerial to split scale pose, bhs-layout step-out for her flight series, tour jete ˝.  It seems that Mari may be actually pressing too hard with some of her leap and flight elements; the organization of the routine may need to be reexamined in light of her toe injury possibly still affecting her landings.
4 Erin Rightley 9.800 Very confident, controlled routine, front aerial; back handspring layout step-out; switch leap to straddle had excellent amplitude and split; switch leap to pike (executed second element almost waist high); small step on the bhs-gainer full twist dismount.
5 Cassie Martin 9.775 A solid effort but not quite as polished as last week.  Had a slight lift of leg on the front aerial but the flight series (bhs layout step-out) and the switch leap to double stag jump were executed very confidently.  Stuck the bhs-gainer full twist dismount chest high.
6 Terin Humphrey 9.875 Definitely her best effort of the year on this event.  Full twisting bhs to bhs to layout step-out, punch front, switch leap to wolf to Omeliantchik; gainer full twist dismount, small hop back on the landing.
EX Melanie Banville 9.775 Excellent outing but she did take out some of the more difficult elements after faltering her first few weeks in the line-up.  Nice split leap full turn, slightest check on the landing; bhs-layout step-out, switch leap to straddle side jump combo were executed very confidently; nice punch front (slight balance step on landing); dismounted with a terrific double twist, one step to check the landing.  We saw a very happy gymnast at the successful completion of this routine.
EX Dana Filetti First effort of the 2006 season was very solid: flight series consisted of a front handstand to back handspring to Korbut (nailed it); switch leap to straddle-straddle combo; sheep jump; double twist dismount, small hop on landing.
