Morgan Dennis finished second on the floor and again made All SEC just like Ricki. Morgan also finished fifth in the all around while Katie Heenan and Courtney Kupets of UGA won the all around title.

The Tide on all four events looked like the following:
[ 9:12 PM, 03/31/07 ]
Floor Exercise: 49.275 - the step out of bounds came from Terin Humphrey and the rest of the scores were tight regardless of how good the routine was. This is what usually happens at or near the beginning of meets like this. Freshman Morgan Dennis is All SEC on the floor event for 2007 with her superb 9.925 routine, that also had the most difficulty of all the teams performing tonight (double layout to open, tuck full in on her second pass, tuck through to round off to bhs to double tuck to close).
BYE - Bama could not generate any momentum because they had to go out on a bye.
Vault - 49.250 - Bama looked great in the air with arguably the best form and distance on their vaults but no one could stick the landings cold. The judges separated UGA, LSU and Alabama and Florida because of this one factor. You must stick in the post-season!
BYE - AGAIN! Momentum opportunity lost.
Uneven Bars - 49.150 Very good routines from Kaitlin White and Ricki Lebegern but the scoring was again very tight and rewards from these judges came from stuck landings on the dismount but only Cassie Martin stuck hers and she still received a very conservative 9.85. Her routine was flawless but they hit her with the weaker dismount of the double tuck.
Balance Beam - 49.325 Solid efforts from 5 of 6 gymnasts up - Casey Overton, Ricki Lebegern and Morgan Dennis - all freshmen - looked amazingly confident up there and their scores reflect this 9.875, 9.925 and 9.850 respectively. Despite a sore knee, sophomore Ashley O'Neal hit a great lead off of 9.825 and stuck her super dismount, the double front tuck. Brittany Magee was tentative on her flight series and fell as a result. The rest of her routine was super, including the double tuck dismount. She fought for every remaining point just in case Terin stumbled. Terin hit her routine but was also a little tentative in the first part of her routine but tumbled the meet's most difficult dismount with awesome form and power - a round off to bhs to double back tuck, slight step on the landing.
This meet was one Bama could have won with more aggressive gymnastics because UF and UGA were not polished tonight. Florida did just enough better than UGA and Bama, and they get to take that trophy home as a result.

Keys to victory:
[ 5:42 PM, 03/31/07 ]
Well folks, since we're only interested in the Alabama Crimson Tide, we will focus on them tonight with our keys to victory.
Alabama is ranked #3 for a reason: they compete difficult skills on each event and have been extremely consistent over the past six weeks of competition. Now, there is no doubt that Bama can win this title tonight but they must have help in two areas: first, they must compete 24 of 24 routines in a polished yet aggressive manner. Even one step out of bounds or touch down on a landing or dismount could sap the team's momentum, so it is imperative that each gymnast perform to their maximum. Second, Bama will need a little help from UGA and Florida in the form of bumbles and stumbles in their respective routines. The feeling here tonight among the fans, media and teams is that this is Georgia's or Florida's meet to lose. But if they discount the Tide and the talented LSU Bengal Tigers, a slip up here and there could yield huge benefits for either team. Bama looked relaxed and poised in their warm-ups and hopefully this will bode well for a terrific competition.

All rotation warm-ups are now through and we are 20 minutes away!
[ 5:31 PM, 03/31/07 ]
After we complete the keys to victory, we will be technically "off the air" until the meet is over and our guru web manager Barry will then post the commentary. This is per SEC rules. Go and figure those guys, like we're releasing state secrets or something.

Ashley O'Neal has her right knee currently wrapped and is expected to go

LSU has one gymnast with iced feet on the floor in her warm-ups. Looks
