over the Auburn Tigers. We'll be heading to Kentucky next week and back in Coleman on February 1 to go against the Georgia Gymdogs. Roll Tide and stay warm Bama fans. It's snowing in central Alabama in about six hours.

The Tide used their depth to withstand the Tiger's enthusiastic onslaught, having to go without senior star Terin Humphrey on four events, junior Cassie Martin on the bars (good exhibition tonight), and sophomore Ricki Lebegern on two events (bars and floor) after she strained her back earlier this week in practice during a floor tumbling pass. We are still not sure why Kaitlin White's floor routine was scored so low but will try to get some feedback from the coaches. She may have left out an element. But the scoring was pretty tight on this event tonight anyway as well as vault, as Kayla Hoffman and Morgan Dennis not only threw E passes, they nailed all of them with great dance in between, and arguably should have scored higher to separate these routines from those with less showmanship and difficulty.

week and facing down a Tiger surge at the end. They get away with a win at 196.425 and improve slightly from their opening meet. Auburn finishes on floor with a 48.700 and a final total of 195.900, an amazing turnaround from last week. The home crowd no doubt inspired them to a terrific performance.

take a lunging step forward to save it. 2 1/2 to punch tuck and she closes with a double pike, slight shuffle backwards, for a 9.725. Give her credit for going for it! It would not have made a difference, as the Tide sewed this one up with six routines straight on the beam. Morgan Dennis is now exhibiting - beautiful bhs to layout to layout - switch leap to wolf to tuck full combination - full turn to a side straddle jump (new); she dismounts with a round off to double tuck, one step back. She needs some more reps with this routine but we love the added difficulty on her leap series and the side straddle jump.

Brittany throws the one-arm bhs to layout step-out and checks at the shoulder on landing it, so that will be a small deduction. Rest of the routine is perfect - front aerial, gainer back layout step-out and she closes this week with a 1 1/2 twist, one small step forward. She receives a 9.85. Her form is unmatched next to Kayla's.

front aerial to bhs to layout stepout - switch leap to wolf jump - breaks at the shoulder a bit on her full turn - wolf front aerial to a flutter jump - dismounts with a round off to double pike, one step back with some leg split mid-air as well. Whoosh! She receives a 9.775.

hops forward up and out of her final pass, the front-front full to front tuck, so she will be deducted. Lots of enthusiasm in this routine. She receives a 9.700.

Beautiful flight series of bhs to layout - switch leap to tuck full - front aerial to gainer back layout stepout - so difficult - slight balance check - switch leap to switch leap combination and she closes with a bhs to two footed bhs to double twist, small hop back on the landing. She receives a 9.800.

at the end - nice dance - she closes with a double twist, chest down, step forward a bit.

switch leap to straddle - side straddle leap - full turn - side Somi - slight balance check - will dismount with a round off to a double twist, slight shift on the landing. Three in the bank. She receives a 9.775 - where's the love?

She opens with a high double pike - finishes with a double tuck, chest down, step forward out of it to balance her landing.

Front walk over to side aerial, nice; split full jump - front aerial - very nice - switch leap tuck full jump to flutter jump - one arm bhs - wolf jump, smallest check but she keeps going - dismounts with a terrific running full twist, nails the landing! She never stopped with this routine, great flow! But she only receives a 9.75. They really want a back salto series it seems yet this routine is chock full of difficult and unique skills.

but she stands it up. She finishes with a Rudi, so what will her score be? 9.75.

Front aerial to start - switch leap to two straddle jumps, perfect flight series of the bhs to layout stepout, full turn to sheep jump; side straddle leap, bhs to gainer full twist - slight shuffle on the landing to bring her feet together. A great routine and we better see it matched with a solid score! There it is - 9.85 to start.

This is a great test for our young beam team. Wonder what the seniors are telling the gals right now?

score of 49.15 and a total of 147.200 to the Tide's 147.375. Remember those keys to victory??

AJ Mills gets a 9.90 for her beam routine. Something's definitely in the air tonight because Britt Magee only received a 9.55 which we totally understand with the low landings on her second and third passes and yet we still don't know why Kaitlin White scored so low because she had nothing similar in terms of breaks in her floor routine and had sufficient difficulty.

Puckett hits her flight series on beam and dismounts with a double tuck, cowboy form a bit and two steps on the landing. A 9.80.

Brittany Magee opens with a whip whip to double pike, nails the landing but has a deep knee bend on her second pass of the front-front full to front tuck - double pike on the final pass is deep in landing, so this routine will likely be scored even lower than Kaitlin's. Alabama needs an immediate pep talk with their coaches.

Freshman Katie Hurley is now up with a punch front mount; dismounts with a double twist, one small step on the landing.

Kaitlin White has to start over with her music - she will open with a double pike - nice landing, slight step to balance - follows with a solid front 1/2 to front full - dance sequences - as the music shifts with nice showmanship - finishes with a punch front layout to a Rudi - nice controlled landing chest high and a final dance gesture to the judge on her right.

Balance checks on her leaps two times, so she will be deducted for that. Wolf front aerial, hesitates a bit to flutter jump - dismounts with a 1 1/2, loose form in the air. 9.725

She opens with a double pike, no steps this week. Big smile and groovy dance. Follows with a front-front full to front layout, nice; nice straddle full to wolf full combination; closes with a double tuck - chest down, step forward but she stands it up well. You always want to end that last pass stronger but she should score well.

She is wearing a brace after suffering a season-ending ACL last year in the meet at Bama during her dismount off beam. She throws her flight series with a slight balance check only, switch leap to straddle, hitch kick to wolf front aerial to flutter jump, slight hesitation between the first two elements. She dismounts with a round off to 1 1/2, hop forward on the landing.

be heading into a trap on the balance beam. All the Tigers have to do is bank five routines on beam and floor without major breaks and all the pressure will be on the Tide in their final rotation. Let's go Bama!

She receives a 9.90 and Julie Dwyer a 9.85 for her follow up routine to close out. Good event for the Tigers and much improved compared to last week but honestly the judging is too soft on this event tonight for both teams and too tight on vault. Krissy Voss arguably should have received a 9.90 or 9.95 for her awesome Hristakieva vault.

Scores a 9.875.

a nice pike Jaeger. Nelms is now up and throws a pike Jaeger too but misses handstands with each kip cast handstand. She receives a 9.800. Hmmm.

Kaitlin follows with a strong Yurchenko 1/1, barely missed the stick but went in a little flat. She receives a 9.725.

She vaults the Yurchenko 1/1 - one small step back on the landing - great power and explosion off the table.

Bama's Cassie Martin exhibits a perfect routine on the bars until a step back on the landing of her dismount (double tuck). She has been a little inconsistent in warm-ups and they are having to work her back in.

Morgan Dennis scores a 9.85 for a terrific routine, highlighted by a super high pike Jaeger and a double front dismount, just one small step in place on the landing.

Alabama is decked out in hot pink with silver and white trim ribbons unfurling around the bodice front and back, highlighted by sequins throughout the ribbons. Auburn is in lighter pink with a metallic sheen on the upper white bodice contrast area.

The team is being introduced first as the visiting team and the Tide crowd is on their feet. Hot pink warm-ups tonight for the Breast Cancer awareness promotion.

The Auburn cheerleaders are trying to get the crowd into it and they are very subdued for some reason. They'll get rowdy once the gym team arrives.

Auburn is coming off a rough opening meet on the road at Kentucky where they ended up with one of their lowest team scores in years and they will certainly be super motivated to redeem themselves tonight in front of the home crowd. The Tigers will be looking for immediate improvement on each event by trying to avoid having to count a fall this week. Alabama traditionally has more difficult skills that also carry higher risk so they will have to be sharp right out of the chute because they start and finish on the two riskiest events, uneven bars and balance beam. It will take a very focused, concentrated effort from the Tide on these two events to avoid giving this meet away. The Crimson Tide gymnasts know how important this series is regardless of the lopsided streak over the past 30 years and will hopefully take care of business from the opening event. Roll Tide!

Ricki Lebegern is definitely warming up on this apparatus, along with Brittany Magee, Casey Overton, Morgan Dennis, Kassi Price, Alyssa Chapman, Kayla Hoffman, Amanda Montgomery, and Ashley O'Neal. Terin Humphrey will be resting on this event tonight as well.

Bama will rest Ricki Lebegern on this event tonight after she suffered a mild back strain during a floor tumbling pass in practice on Tuesday. She is dressed out and may have warmed up on bars. We will report later if she is in the line-up. Terin Humphrey will be rested on all four events this week due to back strain as well. She is expected back in the next few weeks.
