tonight to support the GymTide - all 15,075 of you. Next week is Pink Meet and we need to see the same crowd back. Bama is still mixing up the line-up and went without their senior star Terin Humphrey, who was under the weather this week. Hopefully she will be back in the bars and possibly beam line-up next week.

dismount (9.525) but scored strong on vault (9.85), bars (9.800) and floor (9.95) to finish second in the all around.

her bars routine tonight - 9.800 is her career high - she has one of the prettiest Tkatchevs out there.

she rolled her ankle in practice this week, hence the tape up. Still went out and performed like a warrior tonight in three events for the Tide. This is her last dual meet against Georgia, which heavily recruited her as well. UGA has two of her teammates from WOGA competing as seniors too: Nikki Childs and Megan Dowlen. So tonight is like a homecoming of sorts for these three.

UGA scores a 196.625 and wins this one rather easily despite very tight judging on the vault and, to a certain extent, the balance beam.

New music and dance moves - second pass - double tuck - more groovy dance - finishes with a tuck through to a round off to double tuck, chest down a bit, step forward - crowd is on its feet with a huge cheer and ovation - they love it! Score: 9.95

Front aerial to sheep jump - nice - side Somi with a little arm waving to balance - full turn with another balance check - side switch straddle jump - beautiful amplitude and toe point - dismounts with a double twist - step on landing. Score: 9.775 - way harsh

and comes back with a 2 1/2 to punch front layout - a little knee bend on this as well but recovers quickly - boogie dance - perfect double pike to close - crowd loves it! Score: 9.875

combination into the bhs to layout step-out series until she does a dance move first, then goes into it; dismounts with a bhs to bhs to double tuck, hop forward towards the beam but stands this difficult dismount up. Score: 9.800

Opens with a 2 1/2 to double tuck - nails it! Second pass of a double tuck - cat leap double to cat leap 1 1/2 - now starting to sell it with some smiles - finishes with a double pike - perfect landing and the crowd is very appreciative. Score: 9.875 -

bhs to double twist dismount, small shuffle on the landing. Score: 9.850

and follows with a super front-front full to front layout - great landing as well - nice dance and presentation - finishes with a double tuck, buckles back and barely misses sitting it down - this will still be heavily deducted - what a shame! Score: 9.575

She had a few balance checks here and there but otherwise a nice routine. Score: 9.775

and takes a large balance step back - second pass of a whip 1/2 to whip full twist (no front double full this week), just stays in bounds - closes with a super Rudi - landed chest high. Kaitlin's right ankle is heavily taped by the way - she really wanted to hit this routine for the home crowd. Score: 9.825 - judges rewarding tonight for the E passes

with a little balance check on one foot - hitch kick to front aerial combination - full turn - switch leap to another ring leap - moon walk - dismounts with a bhs to gainer full twist, small hop back. Score: 9.775

lands the double pike chest down and forward but recovers quickly - second pass of a front layout to front full twist to front layout - finishes with a double tuck - nice finish and this crowd is behind her. All 15, 075 (except for a few Georgia fans behind us and to our right). Score: 9.825

Nice flight series - punch front, balance check at the shoulder - nice double twist dismount - stuck. Score: 9.750

Georgia is at 49.325 on floor (9.95 for Courtney McCool's last routine) and they have a commanding lead at 147.650.

but she keeps going - wolf full looks nice - dismounts with a running front full twist and sticks it.

Opens with a 2 1/2 to front layout - double twist as her second pass - beautiful toe point and dance elements - finishes with a Rudi -

nice bhs to layout step-out - switch leap to wolf jump - switch leap side - nice - dismounts with a round off to double tuck - lunging step forward on the landing - chest down as well - going for the stick. Score: 9.525 - ugh

and steps out on her second pass of a 2 1/2 twist. Closes with a double pike, deep knee bends it back with a step to recover - looked a tiny fatigued throughout this routine. 9.150 is her final score.

flight series - one arm bhs to layout step-out - but recovers quickly to hit the front aerial, the switch leap to pike jump and hops forward on the landing of the 1 1/2 dismount. Score: 9.675

Tolnay opens with a double front Arabian, balance step forward, comes back with a 2 1/2 and closes with a double pike, buckles the landing forward a bit on her right leg but recovers nicely to finish. Score: 9.825

Nice flight series of front aerial to bhs to layout step-out - switch leap to wolf jump - full turn - wolf front aerial to flutter jump - a little tentative - dismounts with a super double pike, sticks it and raises her arms to the roof with a huge smile and the crowd erupts with cheers. Score: 9.825

Opens with a super high double pike, solid landing. Front-front full twist to front layout for her second pass - finishes with a 2 1/2 to punch tuck, off center a bit in the corner but she stands it up well.

falls on the second element of her flight series: bhs to layout but nails the switch leap to two straddle jumps - front aerial, tuck full jump - full turn - switch leap to switch leap combination - bhs to two footed bhs to double twist dismount - sticks it with a knee bend to control the landing. Good recovery! Score: 9.250

second pass is a double twist to punch front (tuck) - nice - double turn on one foot - closes with a double pike and jams the landing, popping up and forward with chest down. Score: 9.825

step-out - leap series of switch leap to two straddle jumps - side switch leap straddle - little balance check - side Somi - looking good - dismounts with a round off to double twist and nails it! Score: 9.800.

Opens with a double pike, one step back - well controlled though - tiny gymnast - second pass - 1 1/2 to whip full? - third pass - Rudi - overall a solid routine for the Dawgs. Score: 9.825

Casey Overton starts us off - front aerial - very nice - switch leap to straddle - slight balance check on second element so she did not do the second straddle - bhs to layout step-out - solid - sheep jump - side switch leap - looking good - slight shuffle back on the landing of the gainer full twist out of a bhs. One in the bank Bama! Score: 9.775

The Dawgs lead at 98.325 to Bama's 98.05 (49.15 on bars).

full turn to double tuck, has to land it chest down and with a step. Rest of the routine looked solid - Gienger release especially.

Great bars routine, hitting all the big skills, including the Hindorff release, free hip circle to handstand and nails the double layout! Score: 9.95

Katie Heenan takes two steps back on her Yurchenko 1/1 for a 9.775.

Tide on bars - does a terrific routine, gorgeous Tkatchev, barely misses one handstand but nails the Comaneci dismount. Crowd loves it! Score: 9.80

Throws 2/1 on top of the bar, just arches over a bit but still holds on to complete the routine, throwing a beautiful Tkatchev, ending with a double layout, one step back. Score: 9.80.

Nice routine on bars, including the straddle Jaeger and a stuck tuck full in dismount, chest down a bit though, going for the stick. Score: 9.80

Kupets hits the Omeliantchik for a 9.95. Tolnay before her scored 9.775 for her Y 1/1, one step to the side and a bit off center too.

Nice routine but she lands the double tuck dismount chest down and has to take a hop forward. Score: 9.775

Morgan is through her pike Jaeger and is going for every handstand but takes a step forward on the double front. Score: 9.800

On vault: junior Paige Burns for UGA will throw a Yurchenko 1/1 - step to the right, a little pike down as well. Score: 9.450 Yep the judges have apparently been given a directive on judging vault tonight. That is way too low. Marcia Newby receives a 9.75 for her Hristakieva - looked good to us with one step forward.
Cassidy McComb throws a Yurchenko 1/1 and hops on landing, off center too. Score: 9.650

from senior Katie Heenan - a fantastic routine with a stuck dismount (double front), followed by junior Courtney Kupets who scored 9.95 as well. Grace Taylor hit a 9.90 as well. Team score: 49.425 to the Tide's 48.900 on vault.

Can't wait to hear the coach's explanation for these vault scores in her show later this week. We certainly need educating on what the judges saw worthy of taking 3 tenths plus off on several of the Tide's vaults and how Hoffman's vault did not garner a 9.95 or higher.

Morgan Dennis scores a 9.85 for her Yurchenko 1/1 - amazing amplitude and rise in the air to a solid landing, smallest of shuffles.

hit just as harsh. One judge is stuck on 9.60 scores - the crowd is really getting restless and verbal behind us. She receives a 9.675 final score.

and the score is way harsh - a 9.625 - cannot see that scoring that low.

Tiffany Tolnay completes her routine with a double front, one step forward on the landing. Score: 9.85

Abby Stack is up for the Dawgs - straddle Jaeger - full turn to pak Salto - beautiful lines and handstands, jams the dismount a bit (full in?) but very nice routine. Score: 9.775

Last week at Kentucky she stuck her Yurchenko 1/1 for a 9.90 score. Will she match that tonight? Yes indeed! Not a movement and the crowd loves it. Huge smile erupted on her face after that one. Score: 9.800.

Nikki Childs just fell on her uneven bars routine, trying some intricate pirouetting right at the beginning and falls a second time (Gienger between the bars) - Jay was spotting her from the beginning, so she was likely struggling during long warm-ups. She remounts and completes the pak Salto - full turn to double tuck dismount, chest bent forward a bit but she sticks it. Score: 8.475

So let's get it started.

The #4 Alabama Crimson Tide comes into this meet against the #1 GymDawgs undefeated after posting consistent team scores the past three weeks. But it will take a much more focused and determined Alabama team tonight to seriously challenge the 3-time defending champions. This means that the Tide will have to nail every vault, hit every handstand and landing on the uneven bars, attack the beam with grit and determination and shine on floor like never before. Can it be done? Sure it can - but it will require a little luck tonight beyond solid performances, as Georgia is as talented and tenacious as ever. This could be a major turning point for the Alabama GymTide, regardless of a win or loss tonight. Remember that this is Georgia Coach Suzanne Yoculan's final competition here in Coleman Coliseum and the GymTide would love nothing better than to send her out in true Crimson Tide style by bringing home another Bama victory. Let's do it Bama! Roll Tide!

Brittany Magee is warming up well but likely will exhibit only tonight on floor. Ricki Lebegern has an extra spark to her tonight. Hopefully this will transfer to a terrific performance in the all-around.

Dennis - her new skill this year is the switch split 1/4 leap. Last week she anchored beam for the Tide and may be called on again tonight but if Brittany Magee is feeling okay with her ankle (and it looks like she is with the warm-up reps we've seen so far), then she will probably return to the sixth spot. Terin Humphrey is not warming up beam nor bars and reportedly has been sick this week with flu-like symptoms, so she will sit this meet out.

The Tide just completed their long warm-up on the uneven bars and we caught the last few routines by Morgan, Kassi and Amanda. Jac Shealy was also warming up with extra attention from David and Bryan.
