Solid routine but rotation could have been faster to maximize her score - no problems with the toe on to Tkatchev to pak Salto and she nailed the Comaneci dismount but needed to do it immediately out of the final giant 1/2 turn to obtain her combination bonus. Great to see her back out there on this event.

Excellent effort - Gienger release, pak Salto, stuck the double tuck dismount out of a full turn - rotation needs to be faster to garner the higher score. Pirouetting was solid again this week.

Toe slipped on the low bar as she moved into the straddle shoot move and she had to brush her feet on the mat as a result and kip back up. Lost bonus with the missed element and technically the foot scuffing on the low mat was deducted heavily, like a fall from the apparatus. The dismount with super solid - double layout - beautiful form and execution.

Excellent height gained on the opening double tuck, a little too much forward progress on the second pass but kept it in bounds (front-front full twist to front layout); ended with a very solid double pike.

Whip through to double pike - and the second pass of a double tuck were well executed this week. Finished with a weaker dismount that brought down the overall starting value - a front through to a front full twist. Brittany had a spark to her this week and really sold this routine well. If she can add more difficulty this could be a routine the Tide can depend on down the road.

Opening pass of the front through to a double front full - had to bend at knees a bit to control the landing but she stood it up - nice double pike for her second pass - finished with a punch front layout to immediate 1 1/2 (Rudi) - solid landing as well. Routine choreography seemed off a bit between the 2 and 3rd passes so this might have caught the judge's eyes as well.

Whip to double tuck to open, double pike for second pass (chest down, step forward to balance landing) - finished with a whip 1/2 to whip full twist - step to the left to control the landing as well. Choreography also was not in balance with the music at spots.

Other than a little leg split on some of her tumbling passes, this was a great effort, belied by the score. Judges are being stingy on floor in general this year - hopefully Kassi will have her triple in place by next week's meet against Florida.

Did not catch the score but two falls occurred that would have put the final tally below a 9.00 - first one occurred on the side aerial and the second one on the front aerial later in the routine. Flight series of bhs to layout step-out, running side straddle leap looked good - also completed the switch leap to straddle jump with very nice amplitude and form. |
