Homecoming is one of the most special weekends during the year. This past weekend was "picture perfect" as we experienced some of the fall's loveliest weather. Our ladies on the 2002 Championship Team were honored at the pep rally Friday night where they received a tremendous ovation after being introduced as National Champions. All Alabama fans love a winner and it was evident from the crowd's reaction that they have embraced our program and are truly proud of our accomplishments.
Saturday morning, our ladies rode a restored fire truck in the homecoming parade and were cheered by thousands of fans lining the streets of Tuscaloosa. You can check out the pictures on our web site courtesy of Jim Davis who was there to capture everything on video and camera for us. Thank you Jim!
Saturday night the Patterson home was filled with our alumni who traveled near and far back to the University for the homecoming festivities. Children of all ages were having a grand time while their parents visited with former teammates, friends, and coaches. The event is always one of my favorite, but by the size of our crowd, our home might soon outgrow the Bama Gymnastics Family! Londyn Bakeris, daughter of Shea (McFall) and Dave Bakeris, was the newest addition to our family and was held by just about everyone there!
With the celebration of homecoming over, our focus now changes to our annual intra-squad, the "Ghosts vs. Goblins." The intra-squad will be held, Sunday, October 27th so that you, our fans, will be able to come and enjoy the fun. While this is the first controlled intra-squad and loads of fun, make no mistake about it, our ladies enjoy the competition and you can begin to see us making a few more steps towards being competitively ready by Thanksgiving. The action starts at 1:00 pm and we hope that you will be able to join us. We are making seating available, but come early to get a front row chair!
Hope to see you Sunday!

Look for my evaluation of the "Ghosts vs. Goblins" intra-squad and our first look at our possible "Super Six" lineup!
