Taking on the Tigers! Wow what an awesome display of athleticism, team spirit and competitiveness! If I didn't know better I would have thought I was watching a good old heavy weight boxing match......it just seemed that both teams were on fire and fed off of each other's performance and our awesome crowd! ESPN Commentators and former Olympian's Cathy Johnson and Bart Conner said this was the best collegiate competition they have ever seen and such a tremendous environment for ESPN and its viewers!

My sincere congratulations to LSU Tigers for their great performance on the balance beam last event; they pushed us to the wire where Alexis Brion and Ashley Miles had to win it for us with electrifying performances on the floor exercise. I told the media this week that it would come down to the last two beam routines and Alexis and Ashley.........after 27 years of coaching I guess I had this one picked pretty close! It was an awesome night with lots of steps forward...........and we still gave away so much on landings and little things........we can get so much better! Ashley's vault was awesome! She is in a league all her own when it comes to this event.....and she just "Raised the Roof" of Coleman Coliseum when she landed. It was great to have Terin out there on beam.....folks she has only done four complete beam routines from start to finish since she has been here. She is one tough young lady!
