Chalk talk - 4/18/2005

We are headed to the plains of Auburn. The goal at the beginning of each year is always the same.....to be on the floor the last night of the season competing with a chance to win the National Championship! We are one competition away from achieving our goal and look forward to the challenge of competing against the Nation's best Thursday night in Auburn, Alabama.

After a spectacular Regional performance our ladies have worked hard to continue their success and now our preparation is over. We had our final "full" Intrasquad Sunday as we prepared for any scenario we might face. Our ladies responded well and now all we need to do is continue our focus on the practice day and adjust to the equipment and podium training. Once again I will refer to my competitor's quote "Winners adjust, Losers look for excuses" ......well there will be no excuses from this Bama team as they have learned over the course of this season that success is all about adjusting and controlling the things you can control. It has been a great year and we hope you will be able to join us down on the plains of Auburn. We are thrilled to be boarding a bus rather than flying across the country and realize that the travel is definitely an advantage for our team this year. If you can't be with us just remember to tune in for our live internet broadcast on our website at www.gymtide.com.

Congratulations to the winners of the Grand Gala......our fund raiser for the Medalist Club Post-Graduate Scholarship program. It was a great event for a worthy cause. The support for this program is awesome and we appreciate you making Alabama Gymnastics so special.

Roll Tide,
