It has been a busy start to the first semester and things have been "On a Roll" since the first day of classes!   It is obvious that the 2007 edition of the Tide will be extremely young this year and will hopefully challenge the Nation's top teams at the seasons end.........but there is definitely much work ahead of us.   The first goal of the fall is to get our ladies into great competitive shape.   Freshmen Ricki Lebegern and Kassi Price reported to campus "routine ready" coming from Championships of the USA and Level 10 National Training Camp and have set the standard and pace for everyone else.   It will be our job to motivate and train the rest of the ladies to reach this standard.   This is a fun, exciting group of ladies and once everyone gets into the swing of things with classes, schedules and activities everything should progress quickly.  

This Sunday, September 17 at 1:30 p.m. we are having a "show and tell" practice session where Tide fans can meet our new team members and watch them workout.   So stop by and join us!   On your way in or as you are leaving we hope you will also stop in and support our women's volleyball team playing Ole Miss at 1:30 p.m.   Admission is free and I know they would love to see a few new fans in their gym "The Cave" as well.   It will be a great opportunity to support two Tide women's teams on the same day.  

On a more personal note, I would like to share with you the special anniversary my husband and Associate Head Coach David Patterson just celebrated.   The date 9/11 has great significance for all Americans but certainly it holds a special memory for the Alabama Gymnastics family and the Patterson's in particular.   September 11 th marks the 10 th Anniversary of David's recovery from kidney cancer.   It was a special day that we all enjoyed as we continue to count our blessings with continued support of family, friends and loved ones.
