It is hard to imagine that our last regular season home meet is almost here. The 2007 season has definitely flown by in the minds of the coaching staff.....maybe that is because there has never been a dull moment as far as this young and exciting team is concerned! They truly have kept us on our toes in using every available opportunity to help them learn what Bama Gymnastics is truly all about. They have been a spirited group that truly loves each other and they all have totally bought into the concept of "Team" in creating a "oneness" amongst the group. This does not always happen with every team. As a coach I can tell you from my experiences over the years that our most successful teams all possessed this characteristic. Hopefully over the next month or so this team will continue to grow and set new standards for future Bama Gymnastics teams to follow.

Friday, March 9 is a special night.....one where we will honor our only senior Erin Rightley. Erin has had an amazing career here at Bama. She joined the Tide four years ago after participating in our summer camp program for several years. A quiet, young lady with little competitive gymnastics background as compared to her teammates has now become a scholarship athlete, Scholastic All-American and team leader. While our program has had many successful Elite gymnasts it is one of the more rewarding parts of coaching to see someone like Erin truly come into her own as a person as well as an athlete.

This Friday night we will take on 5-time NCAA Champion and Pac 10 powerhouse the UCLA Bruins. Our fans will certainly enjoy the talent and artistic abilities of the Bruins and we look forward to competing with one of the very best programs in all of collegiate gymnastics. This one promises to be another classic competition!

Also, don't forget.........some lucky fan will qualify and drive home in a new 2007 Toyota Camry compliments of Tuscaloosa Toyota.
