February 16, 2001 will long be remembered as one of the finest in the history of Alabama Gymnastics. No championships were won, no attendance records were set, but no Alabama gymnastics fan left the arena disappointed! It always amazes me to see how our athletes find that little "extra" deep down inside when the Georgia Bulldogs come calling. Athletes from both teams come to each institution knowing the excitement of the competition and certainly thrive in this athletic arena.

There were too many highlights of the evening, and to draw attention to only a few would be unfair…this was a total team effort, proof that our ladies will never give up when the tough times arise! It was one of the most memorable events I have been associated with in a long time…and you, our fans, helped make it that way! Here's to an evening of success, may it only lead us on a path towards another championships season.
