This past week before our ladies tangled with the Kentucky Wild Cats, they took some time to spend with the children from Camp Smile A Mile. Our team visited, signed autographs, and answered questions to approximately forty campers. These are not just ordinary campers; today's youth enjoying recreational time together. Camp Smile A Mile campers are special…..they are recovering from cancer. They bond together each summer to overcome fears, share inspirational stories, and do all the fun things most campers normally do. What a special time for our ladies. They all enjoy interacting with the children as they help to brighten the campers' day! While our team learned invaluable lessons during the evening's competition against Kentucky, I cannot help but think that these Smith A Mile campers touched each and every Alabama gymnast heart. This was truly one of life's more precious moments….and it made me proud to be part of the Alabama Gymnastics Program.
