September 11th National Tragedy will forever remain in the hearts of all Americans...even three weeks later, I find my mind wandering back to the attack on our country and continue to struggle with returning back to my "normal" life. David and I have numerous friends, family, and alumni that live in the DC and NY areas....and it took us almost an entire week to verify everyone's safety! Our team has many loved ones affected directly and indirectly by this National emergency and my first priority was to provide the support network for them. We have since returned to the practice gym (sporting red, white and blue hair ribbons) and tried to focus on our training and doing the "right things" that will help us begin the healing process.

September 11th also marked a milestone for David and me personally, although due to these surrounding events, our celebration never really materialized. Five years ago, David underwent surgery for kidney cancer and for those of you who don't know, the five year mark is a milestone for cancer survivors. We are thankful for David's health and are now reminded more than ever how precious life truly is....

Here is hoping you and your loved ones are safe and that our country continues to unite. I am grateful to have the opportunity to affect someone's life each day and to live in a country where freedom is cherished more than life itself!
