This past weekend our ladies took their performance to another level...and I was certainly proud of their efforts! We faced a great Nebraska team that will surely be back in Tuscaloosa to contend for the NCAA Championships in April. With every routine the Huskers nailed...our ladies responded and it was a wonderful "sit on the edge of your seat" evening for all our loyal Bama gymnastics fans. In terms of drama, well, it just doesn't get much better than this!

The evening was made even more special as we welcomed over twenty alumni back to the Capstone for this event. They traveled from near and far to watch our current Bama gymnasts perform. These alumni have been the cornerstone of our program and our success. They, more than anyone else, understand the road our ladies must travel to be successful for they have already "walked in their shoes" years before. Our ladies on the team today share a bond with the alumni that they don't even realize at this point in their career. Lexa Evans said it best when she told me how much she enjoyed the alumni festivities...even though she was obviously the youngest alumni in the group. It never once occurred that she was not on a team with any of the former gymnasts surrounding her...she truly just seemed part of the "group!" This is the bond that makes being part of Alabama Gymnastics so special.........

I hope you will join us on the internet Friday, February 8th as we travel to Baton Rouge to face a dangerous Tiger Team and Sunday, February 10th as we take on the Auburn Tigers at 2:00 pm at the BJCC in Birmingham.
