One thing coaches want their athletes to do is "finish the job," so to speak. So Friday as we faced a talented Florida team down to the wire, after three rotations, I wanted our athletes to take the floor with confidence and take control of the meet. Needless to say, our ladies responded to the challenge with yet another tremendous floor exercise performance. The meet was actually much closer than the final 196.925 to 194.95 indicated, so don't count the Gators out down the home stretch.

This week, we turn our attention to stepping things up just a bit...and although our team was somewhat fatigued, we made some really good steps forward. It would be unwise of our team or our fans to overlook this week's opponent, the Auburn Tigers. After inserting a few key gymnasts into the lineup, the Tigers gave the Nebraska Cornhuskers all the competition they could handle. Look for this meet to be much more competitive and we will have to "Rock" balance beam once again to win the meet. This team continues to amaze me...they push each other and have a great competitive spirit. Competition for one of the six spots in our lineup is keen. This has been one factor that has driven everyone this year. I hope you will join us for the meet in Auburn; we would love to have you cheering us on.
