This week has been a whirlwind few days...it's hard to believe that 7 days ago we won the Southeast Regional Title with a season high score and now in 7 more days the NCAA Championships here in Tuscaloosa will be concluded! Our return from Morgantown was great and it seems as if we haven't stopped "running" so to speak since our charter flight landed early Sunday morning. The regional was a great experience for our team and we performed exceptionally well and certainly with great confidence, especially on our last two events, the uneven parallel bars and balance beam. Our ladies also had a great time at the pre-meet banquet and after meet reception. The banquet was dedicated to "MOVIE THEMES," and our ladies certainly looked the part of their movie, "Miss Congeniality!" Check out the website for pictures of them in their tiaras and sashes. It was lots of fun and definitely broke the tension from competition. The dance and karaoke party after the meet just reaffirms my belief that the parents of our athletes were smart not to invest in voice lessons for their daughters...there is little talent in this area....trust me! Our practices since regionals have been great...we suffered from fatigue early on in the week, but have since bounced back with great anticipation of hosting the NCAA Championships. We are down to two final practices before the teams arrive on Tuesday. There are many people working hard to allow our athletes the opportunity to compete here at home for their 4th NCAA Championship. Stay tuned for more next week.
