In my four years at this program, this year is the first year that we have not won some type of major gymnastic championship - however - I feel that we accomplished so much more this year. We won a championship in life. After all the struggles, setbacks, and adversities that were thrown our way, we never gave up. We never quit. We learned so many lessons on life this year. This program is about so much more than just winning gymnastics meets - win or lose I am, and always will be, proud to be an Alabama gymnast.
As for my individual future plans, I have several goals. First of all, I want to attend MBA school. Secondly, I intend to get my very painful bunions corrected. Lastly, I want to run a marathon with my dad. However, because I have the WONDERFUL opportunity to travel to Italy this summer for the World University Games, my future plans are on hold for the time being. My immediate future consists of summer school and very intense training. I was not ready to give gymnastics up at NCAAs, so I feel extremely blessed with this opportunity to compete internationally.
My four years have gone by so quickly, and it is such a bitter sweet time for me. I cannot even begin to express in words what being an Alabama gymnast has meant to me. I wish I had the time and the space to give each one of you, the Medalist Club members, the appropriate "thank you" that each one of you so deserve. Your constant support, your encouraging words, your hugs, and all of your love is what makes the difference. Without each one of you, we would just be gymnasts at Alabama. Because of you, we are Alabama gymnasts.
Thank you once again for all your time, support, and love.
ROLL TIDE!
