Andree Pickens

Q: How did you feel about competing in the first ever Magic City Classic against Auburn in Birmingham last week?

A: "I think it was a good experience to make the trip over to Birmingham. Hopefully, it will make more people in Birmingham want to come to Tuscaloosa and watch us compete."

Q: What do you think it will take to beat Georgia this week?

A: "We have to be consistent and have fun."

Q: You suffered a slight injury in practice this week, do you think it might keep you out of competition? (Andree hyperextended both knees on Tuesday when she came up short performing the double front flip in her floor routine.)

A: "I think I will still be competing in the all-around. I practiced on Thursday and I'm fine, just a little sore. To prevent injury I will be watering down my routines a little. I'm switching to my opening floor pass that I had last year and I will be performing an Arabian on vault instead of my 1 ½."

Q: How does competing against Georgia differ from competing against other teams?

A: "It helps you prepare for nationals because they are always one of the teams in the top five."

Q: Are you training any new skills?

A: "I'm not really training anything new. I just rotate different skills in and out of my routines depending on the circumstances."

Q: You have already accomplished a lot in your gymnastics career. You are a 9-time All-American, 1999 Balance Beam Champion and part of the SEC Championship team last year. What is your goal now?

A: "I want the team to win Nationals!"

Special Note: Andree wanted to say that the team really appreciates all of their fans.
