Q: What was it like to have the week off from competition last week?
A: "It was a little unusual because I know ever since I've been here we haven't had a week off during the season. It was pretty nice though because it gave me a chance to catch up on my homework."
Q: The teams has had some tremendous highs and lows the last few weeks, a win over Georgia, near loss to Kentucky, followed by a narrow loss to Georgia in Athens, what is the feeling going into this week's meet with Penn State?
A: "We're trying not to dwell on our past mistakes and we were excited by our performance as a team in Athens. Right now we're looking forward to SEC's and Nationals.
Q: How did you get interested in gymnastics?
A: "My mom got me started in it when I was 2 for the exercise and as I got better and better at it it just sort of stuck. I played softball when I was 11 but gymnastics was what I came back to.
Q: Are you practicing any new skills right now?
A: "I'm working on a new vault. It is a Phelps (10 start value) which I hope to debut this weekend."
Q: What are you plans when you graduate?
A: "I'm a biology major and I thought for a while I might go to medical or physical therapy school, but I decided I didn't want to be in school that long. Right now I am considering teaching."
Q: If you had to pick a single thing as the best thing about being part of Alabama gymnastics what would it be?
A: "My teammates. They're all amazing gymnasts and it's great to train with gymnasts of this high caliber. But not only are they great gymnast, they're great people. They're some of my closest friends and help me through a lot of tough times."
