It only takes a little machine to prove that collegiate gymnasts should impress a crowd with their acrobatics rather than their singing abilities. The University of Alabama gymnastics team successfully earned a berth to the NCAA National Championships competition by winning the regional championships held at West Virginia University on April 10th. They celebrated their victory at the post-meet banquet that featured food, fans and a fatal karaoke machine. The team chose a variety of songs to sing which contained a unified theme. From "Sweet Home Alabama" to "I Will Survive" and "The Tide Is High," the team's performance was highlighted with off-key pitch and hoots from the audience. Though the spectators survived the Tide's gig, they advised the girls to call the floor exercise, rather than the stage, " home." " Don't quit your day jobs," yelled several witnesses to the tone deaf team's performance. With the National Championships just around the corner, the advice will likely be heeded.
