Glad to finally have the new site up and running. It really was a lot of work to get things going this time since we did some major reconstruction of the architectural aspects of the site. And it is these changes that I am most proud of because they took some real engineering. Of course, we also did some cosmetic things as many of you have pointed out - numerous times I might add.

A comment that I am hearing over and over is that "the site does not make me think of Alabama gymnastics!" When I probe into this further, I discover that many of you want the site to have crimson as its primary color. Not a bad idea at all! In fact, the web monster and I had initially designed a site that had a lovely sand background with crimson lettering. However, once our artistic staff got involved, the web monster and I realized that we are just "two fat guys with no taste." What do I know about colors anyway? Seems that the green we have on the site really appeals to some; and when you add the orange, they "just love it!" Others of you want the school colors - and I mean you "really want them!"

So, what is a poor "fat guy with no taste" to do? Well, I went straight to the highest authority - Coach P for you uninitiated. It seems that Coach P wants everyone to know that this is the Medalist Club site and not the University of Alabama's Official Site. Thus, she wants the green and orange to stand. Me? Well I am a function over form kind of guy, so I just read the words. Besides, I think I am probably colorblind anyway; my wife says I can't match anything.

I will be happy to continue to "listen to your feedback" regarding the colors. However, I need for you to please relay your thoughts and concerns to me personally through the e-mail function on this site or by telling me in person what you think. It really is difficult for me to put too terribly much credence into comments like, "my buddy says that …" or "people are telling me that…"

Settling on a color scheme for this page has been terribly frustrating for me. I guess I just ain't gonna please everyone. Oh well. Here's hoping that you enjoy the words anyway.
