There is a lot of interesting discussion on the Message Board about this year's meet in Birmingham against Auburn. I am really glad to see you folks get involved, and that you are willing to put your two cents in; that is exactly what the Message Board is for.

Some people have asked what I think about the Birmingham meet. Now, I can't imagine why anyone would care at all about what I think, but since I was asked, I will address it. First, since this is actually Auburn's home meet, all of this is really a moot point. Second, I think that Coach P has some sound reasoning on why she wants to visit Birmingham. If this will in fact increase the fan support, then so be it. But (and we can call this "third"), if you take her reasoning to the extreme, then can't you say that we have some great fans in Huntsville, and they could drive down; or, we have some great fans in Mobile, and they could drive up; or, we have some terrific fans over in Centerville, and don't they have a civic center.

Gosh, this is a rather complex issue. I guess I will just let the University decide where/when it will hold its meets and decide to either attend or not attend. Voting with that old wallet seems to ultimately be the most effective way to decide such issues. In the mean time, you folks keep burning up that Message Board - I really get a kick out of reading your thoughts.
