<< Brenda Ladun Teams with Alabama Gymnastics to Help Fight Breast Cancer >>
(Friday, December 30, 2005) [ Press Releases: Archives ]

Brenda Ladun, a news anchor for ABC 33/40, is helping get the word out about Alabama Gymnastics' "Drive 4 the Cure" meet to help battle breast cancer.

Ladun, who is a cancer survivor herself, will be helping coach Sarah Patterson publicize not only the meet, but the DCH Breast Cancer Fund, which was created in December 2004. The Fund goes to help West Alabama women in need gain access to medical care for early detection, which is essential in beating breast cancer, and treatment.

Ladun is committed to battling cancer on many fronts. She has worked tirelessly to make sure the public has access to cancer information through the Cancer Resource Center on ABC 33/40's website. She also keeps the station's viewers informed of developments in the search for a cure with nightly "Cancer Facts."

And on Saturday, January 28 ABC 33/40 will host the second annual "Brenda Ladun's Conquer Cancer 8K Run" which will benefit the American Cancer Society. The run will be at Pepper Place in Birmingham. Registration is available on-line at www.active.com. More race information is available at 800-ACS-2345 or 205-930-8860.
