(Thursday, January 31, 2008) [ Press Releases: Archives ]

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - It is without a doubt one of the biggest meets in the nation this season and there are still tickets available for Friday's Alabama-Georgia gymnastics meet that will get underway at 7:30 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum.

Tickets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum and online at RollTide.com.

And while the competition gets underway at 7:30 p.m. the fun begins much earlier. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the barber shop quartet of Stacked Deck will be performing on the concourse. Fans will be able to meet Big Al and Big Alice on the concourse as well. The always popular Lamb Family will be performing on the floor before the meet begins and there will be several giveaways before the lights go down for the introduction of the two teams at 7:30 p.m.

Once the meet gets started there will be many more giveaways during the Tuscaloosa Toyota sponsored "E-Nite", including a Playstation 3, three Nintendo Wiis, Bose Headphones, a Sony PSP, a Portable DVD Player, a Nintendo DS Lite, two Sirius Satellite Radios, five Toys-R-Us gift certificates, an iPod Nano and a Boom Chair.

There will also be a drawing for The Tuscaloosa Toyota Best Seat in the House, where a fan will be able to move to a couch on the floor of the coliseum for the fourth rotation. That fan will also win a 42-inch plasma television.

And as part of the Tuscaloosa Toyota Student Sweepstakes, three UA students will win one of the following prizes - an iMac computer, $100 in Bama Cash or $100 book scholarship. Six other students who enter the sweepstakes will have their name put in the running for a semester of tuition. That prize will be drawn after the Florida meet.

All that on top of the competition between two of the best collegiate gymnastics programs in the history of the sport. Georgia, the three-time defending NCAA Champions, is ranked No. 1 in the nation this week while the Crimson Tide is at No. 4.
