  • Alabama is the No. 1 ranked team in the Nation ahead of No. 2 Georgia and No. 3 Utah. The rankings are based on average score. Alabama, through four meets is averaging 195.910. Through five meets, Georgia is averaging 195.720 while Utah, with three meets, is averaging 195.270.
  • No. 1 Alabama will face No. 2 Georgia Sat., Feb. 13 in Coleman Coliseum. Earlier in the season, when the two teams met in Athens, the rankings were reversed.
  • Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets early to the Alabama-Georgia meet to avoid the long lines. The first 1000 fans through the doors will receive Alabama Gymnastics Trading cards, featuring their favorite Tide gymnasts.
  • Alabama heads to Gainesville this weekend to take on the Florida Gators on Friday, February 5 at 7 p.m ET. Florida returns the nucleus of its 1998 NCAA Runner-up squad.
  • Against Minnesota this past weekend, Alabama drew 11,212 fans, the largest crowd in the nation this year. Alabama has been ranked first or second in gymnastics attendance every year since 1995.
  • Freshman Andre_ Pickens scored a 10.0 on the uneven bars against Minnesota this past Saturday, marking the second time in history that an Alabama gymnast has been perfect on the bars. The first was Dee Dee Foster in 1993. Foster and Pickens are the only two gymnasts to throw perfect scores on the bars in Coleman Coliseum.
  • Andre_ Pickens is the first Crimson Tide freshman to ever throw a 10.0.
  • Against Minnesota 19 of 24 routines were performed by freshmen and sophomores. Through four meets this season 44 of 96 routines have come from freshmen.
  • Sophomore Robin Hawkins, SEC Freshman of the Year last season, suffered a season ending knee injury midway through last eason. She had surgery and went through rehab. Through four meets this season you'd never know she'd been injured. She has gone all-around each meet. She has posted career best marks on the vault (9.875 against Auburn), balance beam (9.850 at UGA) and the all-around (39.225 against Auburn) already this season.
  • Three members of the Tide, all underclassmen, have gone all-around so far this season. Sophomore Robin Hawkins in all four meets, freshman Andre_ Pickens in 3 of 4 and freshman Raegan Tomasek against Georgia.
  • Since joining the Tide's uneven bars lineup against Auburn two weeks ago, freshman Natalie Barrington has been near perfect, scoring a 9.925 against Auburn and last weekend against Minnesota. Barrington is the Tide's first international gymnast hailing from Mississauga, Canada.
  • Eight gymnasts earned Dean's List honors in the classroom (3.5 grade point average or better) and 14 of 15 earned a 3.0 or better this Fall. All six freshmen earned 3.0 or better GPAs. Rookie's Alexa Martinez, Whitney Morgan, Natalie Barrington all earned better than 3.5, giving the Dean's List recognition. Sophomore April Makinson earned President's List honors, denoting a perfect 4.0 GPA.
