Gwen Spidle

How can this be? How can it be Gwen's senior year at Alabama? I firmly believe she was always meant to be a gymnast. Not so long ago she was climbing up on furniture and jumping - or falling - off. She soon graduated to standing on her head while watching television. That all happened before the age of three. And now, her it is her senior year.

I also firmly believe she was always meant to be at the University of Alabama. During her recruiting period, she had planned to go to Nebraska. All it took was stepping off that plane to the Southern hospitality of the Bama gymnastics team and staff and she was hooked!

She has enjoyed her career at Alabama and her dad and I have enjoyed it too. Sarah, David, and Bryan have made sure she was well-trained, happy, and secure here. You will not find a better coaching staff anywhere. I must also mention the staff - in the office, in the training room, and in the media room. They are top-notch. And what about the Medalist Club? These people work tirelessly year-round for the benefit of our girls. How can we thank them?

Yes, life without gymnastics will take some getting used to. Come to think of it, why would we want life without gymnastics? I can't imagine it. Better just sign us up for membership in the Medalist Club for next year and we'll see you there!

THANKS ALABAMA!!!
