A student and a lawyer in Birmingham, a MBA in Trussville, a Girl Scout's office manager in Tuscaloosa, a Director of Publicity in Los Angelos, a mom in New Orleans, and a University Registrar in Pensacola. What do all of these women have in common?

They are all former Alabama gymnasts.

What do these former gymnasts have to say about Alabama's team this year? Almost everyone agrees that part of Alabama's strength is in their numbers. Gwen Spidle comments, "We have so many returning All-Americans that can be strong leaders through their gymnastics."

"The biggest strength that Bama has this year is their depth on all four events. They have a large team (in numbers), full of terrific athletes that can bring in a big score," says Penney Hauschild Buxton.

"They are very committed to the sport and to each other. They definitely push themselves to the limit. The fact that there are so many women on the team and that they understand the roles of 7th and 8th serve to make the top six the best they can be will take them very far", Allison Beldon Kustoff comments.

Ann Dziadon remarks, "Difficulty on floor routines is greater than I've ever seen". Dana Donbransky Duckworth agrees, "Floor exercise looks strong and the level of difficulty with the double fronts, full-in back outs, last and middle pass double backs and strong leap combinations will make us stand out" while also remarking, "We have one of the strongest vault line-ups in Alabama history as far as the number of 10.0 start values for the level of difficulty."

Dione Foster says, "Bars is by far the best event for the team this year."

As for the teams weaknesses answer vary. Sheri Laycock says, "A weakness would have to be having a young team with not as much experience under this kind of pressure."

"If I can see one weakness is that the team seems to be a very sensitive team" Penney Hauschild Buxton notes, "If they have an off night, the entire team has an off night. On the other hand, this can be viewed as a strength as well. When the team is on. . .watch out!"

What will it take for Alabama to win a SEC or National title?. "Pulling together as a team and being determined to be not only consistent but take care of the little tenths like stuck landings. The team that wins will not have falls and will be tight with big skills and stuck landings just like every NCAA Champion in the past!," Gwen Spidle says.

Dana Dobranksy Duckworth says it will take "stuck landings, high level difficulty done clean, smiles and excitement, and a great deal of focus. The entire team has to be fighting for the same thing."

"For this team to win any championship meet, they will have to hit 24 of 24 routines", Penney Hauschild Buxton states.

In a meet where "Every tenth counts!" Alabama will to be need more consistent, more powerful and more excited than they have ever been before to bring home an SEC or National Championship.
