Important Information for Friday's Meet
It's that time again, gymnastics season! For fans coming to Coleman
Coliseum for the meet, and for fans following along on the radio and
online, we have a few announcements, reminders, and, hopefully, helpful
links:
- Two vital links for meet night information: our own Meet Central page and the GameDay page
on RollTide.com. Betwen those two pages you should be able to find
links to the radio broadcasts, the play-by-play commentary and scoring,
parking and travel information, weather information, and, really,
anything else you might need to know. If by some chance you have a
question you can't get answered there, don't hesitate to bring it to
the GymTide.com message board. If you have not already done so, signing up to post on the messageboard is quick, simple, and, best of all, completely free.
- If you have a gymnastics parking pass, keep in mind that the
reserved parking lots will be open to the general public 15 minutes
before meet starts. We know that many fans like to get to the meet
right as it begins, so don't be shut out at the gate!
- Speaking of parking, per a recent article
"the new Soccer lot, located off University Boulevard, is now available
for Coleman Coliseum athletic event parking. For convenience sake,
starting one hour before the meet starts, the Crimson Ride transit
system will run a direct route that will transport fans from the Soccer
Lot to the front of Coleman Coliseum free of charge. After the meet,
the buses will pick up directly in front of the coliseum near the
steps. Once again, this service is FREE of charge for all fans."
- There will be a sign-up table in the front foyer for the bus
trip to Auburn next Friday, January 18th. This will be your first and
last opportunity to sign up in person for the trip if you intend to
travel with us. Information about the trip and how to sign up can be
found on the Bus Trips and Travel page.
- Immediately following the meet there will be an autograph
session with the gymnasts, also in the front foyer. This session is
open to all. However, we will have a Medalist Club table close by where
you will be able to join the club, sign up for the bus trip, or just
find out about the many benefits of membership.
- A numerous giveaways, contests, special promotions and prizes are on tap for the meet. Just a partial list includes: 2008
posters and magnetic schedules, an iPod Shuffle, an iPod, an iPhone, an
iTouch, Bose headphones, a Toys-R-Us gift card, a “Best Seat in the
House” prize pack, a 42” plasma television, and much, much more. For a
complete listing on all the promotions, see this article.
Each new gym season begins with great anticipation and excitement; 2008
is no exception. The team has been hard at work for months - in the
gym, in the classroom, and out in the community - all in preparation
for this Friday. Come on out, bring a friend (or friends), and help us
ring in the new year with a few big 'Roll Tides!' for Alabama
Gymnastics!
